My Name is Benito Velazquez, Jr. I never bother writing a poor review of a place and or restaurant, because I know that everyone has bad days once in a while. Additionally, everyone who knows me , knows that I do not have a malicious bone in my body and that I would never offend anyone.... However, today, I will break that exception. I am an amateur baker and everyone that knows me knows that I love to bake. That being said, I always go to Sugar Showcase to buy my supplies. I have spent lots of money there over the years. Today, I bought a 5lb brick of caramel and simply asked if they would be able to cut in 1lb bricks for me. The employee was very sweet and said she would ask the owner. The owner started yelling at her and screaming like a maniac. I calmly bought my ingredients and left the store. I then called and asked to speak with the owner. I gave her my name and told her that I've been coming there for many years and that I didn't think I was owed that type of treatment. She then replied yelling at me as if I were her child, "You are the one who's being rude for asking us for that favor followed by if you don't like my answer, you don't have to come here anymore" Says have a good day and hangs up on me.... Well Cheryl, I will have you know that I will post this on Social Media and I will tell everyone I know about how customer friendly you are not; and how horrible you treat your patrons... You see that wasn't the first time I've encountered her horrible demeanor, but it will by my last.

Sugar Showcase is my go-to for all baking supplies, as well as personalized cakes for events. Their wedding cakes are also gorgeous, and once the time comes my cake will be from here. The business has been family owned for generations, and they even sell their own recipe books written by the owner's now elderly mother. Whether you're looking for a basic graduation sheet cake, or a super elegant wedding cake, this is your spot! The photos online really don't do it justice.

If I could give this place zero stars I would! We attended a birthday party at the country club and I knew what the cake was supposed to look like from pictures ahead of time. All I can say it was a disaster and my grandson who is only 1 could do better. When the family complained, the owner used foul language to the person who purchased the cake and hung up on her! Do not use this business unless you want to get treated poorly and pay for something you didn't order!

They were amazing! Our wedding cake was perfection and tasted amazing. They also were kind enough to create a birthday cupcake for my uncle who was celebrating his birthday on my wedding day. They were so kind and professional and also delivered our cake to reception hall, which really helped us out. I highly recommend for your next event! Ask for Chris- he's awesome!

I do not bother writing poor reviews. if a place gives me bad service or treats me like my patronage doesn't matter, I simply don't go back. I think I'll make an exception here. I got married this past Saturday. The ceremony was beautiful the reception hall was beautiful and the food was delicious. We ordered a beautiful cake from Sugar Showcase. when we cut into the cake we noticed that the inside of the cake did not look like the cake we ordered and when we bit in, it was confirmed. we even asked our other guests what flavor the cake was and their answers did not match the what we ordered. We ordered an apple cinnamon cake and got apple caramel. when we finally called today to try to rectify this problem, Cheryl, Chery , whatever she likes to go by, came out of the gate yelling, at my Wife, about how she baked the cake personally and knows what she made and there was no way it was the wrong flavor. We offered to bring the cake in and let her see for herself and she said don't bother because she knows what she made. We weren't trying to get a whole new cake. what we want is to sit down in a year and eat this top tier of a cake that reminds us of the happiest day of our lives, and so far Sugar Showcase took that away from us. Thank you Cheryl, you've not only tarnished our wedding day but you also ruined our first anniversary. I will never do business with them again, and would certainly not recommend anybody else give them their business.

I never write reviews about anything because if I am not happy with what I got, I simply don't return for service but I have to in this case. I went there 2 weeks before my sons birthday and asked if they could make a shark cake for my son. I showed them EXACTLY what I wanted and the employee said absolutely. Was a fairly simple cake. One layer, half sheet cake with a JAWS theme. The design was made of FONDANT and ICING. She did say the word JAWS would be written with frosting instead of fondant because it was easier, which I didn't have a problem with. Fast forward to cake pick up day. My husband went and picked it up and thank goodness for that because I would've wanted at least half of my money back, if not all of it. Instead of using frosting or fondant or anything at all to draw or design the theme I wanted, they printed a picture off of the internet and put it on the cake .... I ordered a half sheet and the picture they decided to PRINT OFF THE INTERNET was not even the size of the whole cake so it looks very plain and empty..The picture is the size of a piece of paper, on a half sheet cake. It looks terrible! My son also saw the cake that I wanted them to make so we both expected it to look at least a little similar to that. It did not at all. My son was upset it didnt look anything like the cake we wanted and to see his face drop like that when we opened the box was terrible. Poorly made. When my husband picked it up, before they even brought the cake out, the employee stated that they WANTED to give us back $10 because it wasn't made exactly how we wanted it to. We paid almost $60 for this cake. For a printed edible piece of paper basically and a written HAPPY BIRTHDAY on it. I could've paid 35-40 at Giant Eagle for the same cake. We are extremely disappointed because we looked at pictures on their website and what we wanted was fairly simple compared to what they are used to making. We wanted this to be a very special cake for my son and we are just so bummed out. However, I gave 2 stars because the employees were extremely nice. I had no problems with them at all. Very sweet. But I'm sad to say I will not return here for anything.

Saturday was my wedding day. We chose this bakery because we thought it had a good reputation. My family has shopped at this establishment since i was a little girl. I can now confidently say we will never ever recommend or give them business ever again, no matter how convenient the location may be. From the start Cheri or Sheri (however you spell it) had a poor attitude. However, we still moved forward because the cake seemed as though it would turn out beautifully. We took our time chosing a flavor that we ourselves and our guests would love. We met with our parents and brought the samplings for their opinions as well and we deeply enjoyed the process. They do give you large samples and if you agree to buy from them they will give you more. We took the gamble and cake sample after cake sample later, we decided on our flavor which was apple cinnamon. With it being a fall wedding it just seemed perfect. So at our reception it was time to cut the cake! My husband and I smiled as we sliced into it for the very first time. Unfortunately, we saw not even a spec cinnamon. The cake was yellow. And after feeding eachother our first piece we discovered it was their version of a carmel apple that basically tasted vaguley of apples and loads of sugar. And thats with taking the frosting off. We remembered not enjoying the flavor during our tastings. And no we had enough cake to feed over 300 people. So, it was served. What else could we do? I decided to call this woman to let her know about what happened since we now have an anniversary topper that we will not enjoy eating. I called to speak directly to her. As soon as I got the words out that there was a problem with our cake she began yelling, stating she baked the cake herself and that it definately was apple cinnamon. I told her that it wasnt and that I was going to bring the rest to her so she could see it for herself. Her voice raised even higher and she told me not to bother because she knows what she baked. Basically telling me I was lieing. So I said I would never do business with her establishment again unless she at least looked at the cake. She then hung up on me. SHE HUNG UP ON ME. I should have stuck to my instincts the moment this woman gave me attitude with my first meeting and questions about the cake. It saddens me that the establishment i remember visiting with my mother as a child and smelling the sweetness in the air, is now just a memory of this awful woman not making things right. I didnt even ask for a refund! I didnt have a chance to ask for anything! SHE HUNG UP ON ME.
