Neither my husband, nor I, have ever done this before...but we each took one bite and decided to just ask for the check. It took 30-35 minutes to get our food and we were the only table in the restaurant (in hind sight that should have been our first sign) I don't consider myself to be particularly "picky" so when I say this food was completely inedible, please believe that I wouldn't even feed it to my dog- and I really mean that. I wasn't impressed with the service either. In the 35 minutes it took to get our food after ordering, we only saw the server once. After taking one bite of our food, we asked for the check and the server dropped it off and ran. I think she knows, because I'm sure she's seen this a million times before. Still, kind of disgusting service to not ask if everything's okay or if there was anything she could do.

While visiting the area we made a reservation to eat here on a Saturday night over the Labor Day weekend. We had a little trouble finding the place, but when we did it is fair to say that the building is huge. I can see why someone may want to host a shower or even a wedding here. Well I made reservations but it wasn't at all necessary. I requested a table outside but I kind of wished I didn't because the outdoor lighting on the upstairs deck was very poor. It was hard to see anything. Also as I stated the outdoor seating is upstairs through some large rooms, sort of a maze to maneuver around. Not to mention we were the only patrons out here. In retrospect they probably could have told us no, but they accommodated my request. We started off with an appetizer of Stratford's Asparagus. It consisted of asparagus spears wrapped in thin tenderloin strips, char-grilled and crusted with a blend of sugars, served with a hollandaise and sweet teriyaki blend. The appetizer was really great, my only complaint was the hollandaise sauce broke and they could have done away with the teriyaki altogether. It gave the sauce a sweet element that I didn't care for, but the asparagus was wonderfully cooked as was the tenderloin. Next we ordered our entrees. I decided on the Chilean Sea Bass grilled. It came with some sautéed vegetables. As we waited for our entrees we enjoyed watching what was left of the sun go down. It was very pretty, but as I remarked rather dark. Also being the only table up here every time our waitress came to check on us it almost always resulted in her having to go back downstairs to bring us something whether a refill or whatnot. She claimed she liked the exercise, but I am sure it annoyed her. Our entrees came out and they looked great. My fish was cooked right on, and the veg and fish were nicely seasoned. I do have to say, for my personal taste they used WAY too much butter. My fish and vegetables were swimming in a pond of butter. I know butter makes things taste better to some, but for me I wouldn't have ordered grilled fish and veggies if I wanted to pack on the calories. Overall though it was very tasty and I would order again in a heartbeat with a special request of no butter.

My wife and I made reservations for this restaurant about 2 or 3 hours beforehand. This was our first trip into Wheeling and we were staying overnight at a nearby hotel. We were really hungry so we couldn't wait to get here.We had our GPS but we had a little trouble finding this restaurant. We saw the sign for the restaurant but pulled into a housing plan. We were confused but our GPS said that the restaurant was supposed to be right where a townhouse was. We actually got out of our car to walk up the steps to this townhouse to really make sure that this wasn't the restaurant. No it wasn't the restaurant it was somebody townhouse! Like I said we were very hungry so our brains weren't really working! We eventually found it and it was a big and very nice looking restaurant. We parked and walked into the restaurant but there really wasn't anybody around. We didn't know where to go. Keep in mind it was evening so I'm assuming they just were slower later in the night. Finally somebody walked into the room we were in and asked if we had reservations. We said that we did so then he went to show us to our table. My wife mentioned about maybe sitting outside to the hostess. It was still nice out and we like to sit outside if we can. He said sure and he took us on what turned out to be a little tour of the restaurant. This was a big place I guess the main floor is where we would have sat at if we choose to sit inside. He brought us upstairs to a few very large rooms. Like banquet style type of rooms. There was nobody in these rooms and they were dark but they have a lot of space here. I can see a wedding reception or a big party going on here sometime. So we got to their patio doors and he shows us outside onto their deck. Another big area with a lot of tables, it was dark, and nobody was here. Perfect! They turned on some lights and then we got to pick where we wanted to sit. It was still a little light outside still and we got to see the sunset together at our table. It was turning out to be a weird but romantic experience!Like I said we were hungry so we were looking to order an appetizer fast. Our waitress was a nice younger girl. She had to come all the way upstairs to wait on us but she said she liked the exercise. For appetizer we ordered the Asparagus with thinly cut beef tenderloin. I think this was the best appetizer that I have ever eaten. I was really hungry but the beef was so tender and good. It went great with the asparagus that was cooked perfectly as well. So we crushed that appetizer and went on to the main meal.My wife ordered some fish and I ordered the Blackened Salmon with veggies and French fries. The salmon was really good. No complains on the food at all. Our appetizer and entrees were excellent! It started to get a little cold outside so we didn't want too hang here too much longer but we would have if it was warmer and we weren't so tired. Kuddos to our waitress who kept climbing those steps to wait on us and bring us our food. It was really cool that they let us sit outside by ourselves and it gave us some good time together.I would like to see what it is like here n the daytime and when they are busy. I would come here again because the staff was nice and the food was great!

Maybe it's because it was a Wednesday. Maybe there were other problems. All I know is that we were celebrating my parents' 50th wedding anniversary, and rather than the nice night we wanted, we had a terrible experience. Our poor waitress did the best she could, and I give her a lot of credit for dealing with a bad situation. There was NO manager on the premises. The food varied from mediocre to undercooked. It took and extremely long time to arrive and when it did, it was a disappointment. My nieces were served pasta that was so undercooked that it would not bend when held at the end of the noodle between thumb and forefinger. The broccoli my son was served and my vegetables were cloyingly sweet and were inedible, asi if cooked in simple syrup. The salad was not as good as what I get from Salad in a Bag at my local grocery store. All in all, a very poor showing on a special day, a day for which we made reservations ahead of time; they knew we were coming, and they were clearly understaffed. Would not recommend.

My party and I sat on the deck which was wonderful to see the sun set over the gorgeous mountains! The homemade rolls were wonderful and the grilled asparagus was perfect. The problem was with my 12oz ribeye steak. I ordered it medium and after sending it back two time the chef almost got it medium rare. The manager did comp my meal and gave me a great chocolate cheesecake. Probably won't be back for another steak.

The service was good, but the Prime Rib came out grey and way overdone. The second time it cam out it was colder than room temperature in the middle which tells me they were reheating stuff. A couple people around the table felt it to make sure I wasn't going crazy, and they agreed. The server still claimed it was fresh sliced off the roast. I was good with a salad but the chef sent out a "to go" box with a big chunk of good prime rib, looked fresh and cooked properly. i was impressed with the remedy, but where was that meal the first time. I think I would give them a second chance someday.

We had dinner last night with friends and it was our first visit ever. We were happily surprised at the food, service and detail to attention we received. Prices were fair and the food was excellent. Our server was awesome and attentive. We recommend this place and we will return.

Came here on a Saturday night. (Place was dead). Maybe 3-4 tables eating. We seated ourselves and after 5 agonizing minutes of weird looks and ZERO service...we left and went to Figurettis Italian -which was the complete opposite ...(friendly, excellent service and delicious food.
