Stonecroft Manor

Food was beyond amazing, the staff were amazingly friendly, even laughed at a couple of our jokes. Recommended what we get and even gave a discount for "being such good customers". I've read other reviews of this place and they just don't sit right with me. I've been to Stonecroft Manor several times and never have I had a single negative experience. The refills on drinks always come when I want one without having to ask and the food is always cooked properly. The setup of this restaurant is also very cozy and comfortable.

This a historic house that has been a number of restaurants over the years. Regardless the menus have been good, service is always great and the food tasty. You certainly don't feel like you're eating fast food or just any place...it has a touch of being upper-scale; must be the antiques and stairs though we ate on the screened porch. It was hard picking off the menu but decided on the, Chicken Chesapeake sandwich, grilled chicken with a huge crab cake, bacon and cheddars cheese; my side was a house salad for $18. I met with a long time friend for a fancy girls lunch out!

The hostess sat us and the vent for the AC was right under the table. We asked to move and was seated in the other room. Then we sat for 20 minutes. The hostess sat people 10 feet away and rushed back to their table with water and just walked past our table (no water at our table). After 20 minutes of sitting there the hostess sat another group and before they were done sitting down the waitress came over and took their order. We got up and left and when we said something the hostess just smiled. We have eaten here before and the food is nothing to brag about but with this type of service we will never be back.

We were here a few weeks ago and we're pretty disappointed. I called to find out if they took reservations and I had to call 4 times before someone answered. While they didn't take reservations, I asked the last time they sat people and they said as long as orders are into the kitchen by 8:45pm, they would seat you. We got there around 8pm and the order went in around 8:20. We ordered drinks (my partner was told they couldn't make him his drink because they didn't place an order for one of the ingredients), an app and two entrees. Because we chose soup as one of the sides for each of our entrees, the waitress (who was very nice) said the app would come first, then the soups, then the entrees. The app came out, and about 3 minutes later the soups came, and about 3 more minutes later the entrees came out. So all of our food was out at the same time. My entree (the lamp pops with the asparagus) was cold and felt like it had been sitting in the kitchen for a while, and my partner said the white wine pasta sauce felt like it came from the jar but was not very good. All and all we did not have a great experience besides a lovely waitress and the outdoor porch space was beautiful. Maybe we'll try again in a few months after it's been open and gotten its feet wet.

When it's good, it is very, very good. But when they're having an off day, which they do, both the service and the food can be disappointing. We've had great dinners here. We've also had dinners we ended up, apologizing for to our guests. I can't explain the inconsistency, but I know it has nothing to do with how busy they are. And I hope they can overcome it because like I said, the good nights are outstanding.

Very slow service for such a PRESTIGIOUS recommendation..No alcohol in the drinkNo steak on a steak sub..I got more meat at a Jewish synagogue...for an $18.00 steak sub with less then 2oz of meat....

Despite mixed reviews, we gave it a shot.My party ordered a variety of items. Creamy pesto Alfredo....low on flavor.Crabcakes... call them MD style if you will...the cook must be from Louisiana. Shrimp scampi...was dry and lacking overall. Lots of shrimp and no flavor.The cream of crab soup was an orangish color and separating. The crab topped mushrooms were fairly ok aside from being greasy. The crab dip was the best overall from the things we tried.They made some yummy garlic bread which was brought to our table long after the soup was gone.I played it safe and ordered a burger. I kept it simple and asked for grilled onions, cheese, ketchup and mayo. The burger cane out with toppings I specified to omit, and the ketchup was not provided. Before she left the table I asked for ketchup. I asked a few more times before it was ice cold. After 30 minutes when my party was done their food I asked for a manager to have it taken off the bill since it was cold and I still did not have ketchup.No apologies. Just excuses that she had some big parties.If that was actually a manager, that explains the performance of the overall service.Stephanie left the table piled up throughout the meal could not be bothered with taking away empty glasses, salad dishes and appetizer plates.We could not get refills on our drinks and when two people in my party did they were not what they were drinking. Asked for the correct drinks which never came. Our intent had been to celebrate the last day of our vacation and my husband's birthday. I can tell you that I will never go there again. My recommendation is that you learn from my experience and dine elsewhere.

We really liked this restaurant. Very good food. Exceptional service, and fantastic ambiance. When we get back to Deep Creek, a return to Stonecroft Manor is guaranteed.

Food was solid. Service was good. Beef Wellington was a favorite. Chicken picatta was good. Lobster Mac n cheese was a bit soupy, wasn't the best thing on the menu.
