Starwood Restaurant & Pub

Was wanting prime rib, had tried Edwards a couple times. Meh... made the trip to Starwood. Very happy with the choice. The interior is very nice. Nicer decor than Edwards, and the waiter was much more familiar with the food and what went into it. The prime rib was beautifully trimmed, had just enough fat for taste. The beef was waaaay better than Edwards. Tender and tasty. A pronounced beefy flavor. Seriously happy with the choice to come here. Horseradish sauce on the side of the prime rib. Was mild, but added a nice counterpoint to the richness of the beef. Overall, a great meal.

Just had a delicious Hot Roast Beef Sandwich with gravy and fries.... delicious. Staff and owner always friendly

Pay no attention to negative reviews about this restaurant. Been going here since 1996 after moving to Slippery Rock from another state. If you want the most delicious BBQ Wings or ribs come to Starwood! Their homemade bleu cheese is INSANE, their BBQ sauce unsurpassed! Their ribs have a perfect pull and chew and are delicious! Their steaks esp prime rib absolutely mouth watering! Service is always stellar, the food here is superb. Fun to sit in the bar area where hubs and I prefer. Its bright and lively and we really enjoy it. I am a cook and a die hard foody...I know good food, I worked in the restaurant business 25 years and I highly recommend Starwood. Steer clear of Fat Jimmy's. I got such attitude from a lowly cook who refused to divide up a dozen wings with a few different sauces so we could sample them. In front of my hubs and I he said to the waitress charge her for the different wings if she wants different sauces! He was so rude and I told him to stick his wings up his ass then we left!! When I tried to call the owner I never could get a hold of her and she never returned my calls. That was 2 yrs ago and we never went back. We were there a couple times and weren't impressed. Take my advice, The Starwood is a bright spot of New Castle without having to venture into the heart of the town. It's a great restaurant!

We stopped in for hot wings. I hadn't eaten here in years. The wings were delicious and the service was fast. We tried four flavors and they were all great.

Ouch, our visit to Starwood was painful to say the least. Upon our arrival the restaurant was pretty dead with only four table other than our own. Our server was a very nice young girl who was very attentive and checked in with us often (kind of too often but it's better than the alternative). We ordered two kids meals, the salmon special of the evening and a steak dish (the type doesn't matter). Our order took 45 minutes to get to our table. My guest said her salmon was good. My medium rare steak was well done. At that point it had taken so long I ate as much of it as I could tolerate and was sssoooo thankful I had had a salad with my dinner. When we received the bill (after having to have the manager find our MIA server) it was the wrong one and this took 13 minutes to rectify. Ouch!

Food was very average. Service was ok, drinks were not good, took a long time to get the food out, was not very impressed

We stopped here at the suggestion of someone at the local post office. We went into the bar area which was very nice, beautiful bar, and even had a cozy fireplace. I got a cappuccino, which was delish and thick with lots of flavor. For lunch I had the rack of ribs which came with 2 sides and soup. The soup I had which wad very tasty was portabella mushroom. I got redskin mashed potatoes and steamed Brussel sprouts, both equally delicious! The ribs were phenomenal, the BBQ sauce was awesome (she even gave me extra) and they were so tender they just fell off the bone. My fiance had the steakhouse burger, which consisted of a burger with bacon, grilled onions, grilled peppers, and lt. Needless to say I recommend eating here. Price wasn't bad for the amount we got!

Rude owner. There was a professional waiter that was a treat to hear. Haven't been there for 5 years and won't go back. Steak was tough and wings gummy.

Great service food was excellent, just went last week. We hadn't been there in years but we will definitely be going back soon

Thank goodness we had a gift card because I certainly wouldn't want to pay for the meals we received for take out! We weren't sure exactly what type of food was available and there is not a true menu available on line so we ordered pasta...cavatini and meatballs. Salad consisted of lettuce & two cherry tomatoes! The main dish was overdone pasta and two meatballs, the meatballs were big and okay... no cheese, no bread or rolls! I ate the meatballs and "salad " and the pasta was thrown away! I guess I should have ask if they had a specialty...
