These are supposedly the chairs and tables used in the movie. Right by the entrance, not by the window (no big deal)...

Everything I have tried was mouth watering. Cranberry scones, cranberry cookies, cranberry bread and cranberry almond biscotti.

My wife and I are staying at our second home in PA and decided to hit some of the locales used in the movie called, "A Man Called Otto". This bakery was one such place...Unassuming from the outside, it is a small bakery with plenty to offer in the form of homemade baked goods, as well as some candy thrown in for good measure. We enjoyed their maple pastry and they delicious cinnamon roll. The baker was a bit rearranged from the movie - no big deal - and the service was super friendly and answered our questions on when they came to tape for the movie. It was a fun stop and their baked goods are truly delicious.

My book club read A Man Called Ove in January, in anticipation of the movie, A Man Called Otto coming to theaters. As you may know, part of the movie was filmed in Ambridge and this bakery is used in one of the scenes. The main characters visit this bakery and have a Swedish eclair, or Semlor. I was hosting our book club this week and thought it would be fun to pick up some semlors for our treat. I called the day before (not realizing they are closed Sunday-Tuesday) to place an order for 18 semlors. They said it would be no problem to make them for me, even though I only gave them just over 24 hours notice. The bakery was beautifully painted back to how it was originally when it opened many many years ago. There is limited seating (only one small table and two chairs) so it's not really meant to be an eat-in bakery. The semlors were a hit with book club! Everyone enjoyed them quite a bit. They did seem to be a little dry to me. Not sure if we got "day old" semlors or they were just drier than I would have guessed. The filling was delicious and plentiful. Would love to come back and try some other items they have--the giant cookies look so yummy!

In honor of the newly released movie, A Man Called Otto, I came in this week to try one of the Swedish eclairs that Stangl's makes for the movie! It was really fun to come in and see the throwback/vintage items in this shop and be transported back in time. There are plenty of other great looking items to order, so I hope to be back soon to try more of the menu. Only reason for the 4-star was I think the eclairs were a day or two old as the pastry was pretty dried out. Definitely best consumed with a beverage of some sort. Overall great flavor though!

This bakery was featured in "a Man Called Otto" and I took my daughter here after she officially graduated kindergarten to get a treat. She wanted an M&M cookie which, I'm not sure how it happened but it was never put into a bag although I saw the mom of the store pull it out of the bakery slider. Then she wanted some candy which she chose a crystal stick. We got some other creme-filled treats which were ok but not really wowing. The inside of the bakery needs some work and doesn't look put together. I was so excited to go to a local bakery for once but was pretty disappointed. Hope I have a better experience if we ever return.

I saw this iconic bakery in Otto and just had to stop on by for the hype. The bakery is quite lively with fantastic customer service and sweet goodies for all to enjoy. Seating area outside is a nice touch too.

Wish I could say something nice but I really can't make this up. My Godparents were home visiting from Florida and called to order the same kind of cake the had made from them 38 years ago. When we called yesterday we were told to call back and ask for "Mom" to talk to her about the cake. We did and everything was fine. Today we drove an hour and a half to be treated absolutely horrific. When my Uncle asked to speak to "Mom" to thank her for listening to him, we were told we get to deal with her daughter, the person waiting on us, or no one at all. That they were way too busy and that they actually bake things there!!!!!!!! We were the only ones in the store. Seriously. Then when he asked if it was made with almond extract, we were told she didn't know because she didn't bake it. Again, seriously. This is how you treat people. You're an extremely rude women to the point I couldn't even say anything because I was left speechless. DO BETTER FOR CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THIER WONDERFUL WEDDING CAKE FOR THE LAST 38 years and go out of their way to come back. Such a disappointment
