The best chicken salad I've ever had. Large portion, fresh vegetables from green peppers, onions and jalapeños and the price is right.

What a cool place. There's a bar area, plenty of pool tables, and a door in the back leads to a separate room where they show live music. Saw a great performance from local band Hockey Temper on Friday. Music was good, the crowd was nice. My go-to drink is a gin in tonic. Ran just under $5 and was pretty tasty. Right now there's construction outside, but the bar's big arched sign is still easily visible over the work. That's the main entrance. There's another door just off to the right that goes into the stage area. Everyone who worked there seemed awesome, especially the door guys. Excited to go back.

Great environment. Went there for a comedy show and it was amazing. The shows are actually performed in an old movie theatre, that has been renovated. It's perfect. Great staff, cool people, the comedy shows are hilarious!!! Will definitely be back.

Fun hole in the wall bar! The owner Barry loves to make sure everyone is having a good time. Huge selection of drinks and a good selection of drafts all at a great price. Love to come in and watch some games or shoot some pool! Would recommend!

My favorite bar EVER! Such a great, welcoming atmosphere. Barry goes out of his way to welcome & speak to everyone. I've turned many people into lovers of this place. Great vibes all around.

Nothing special. Not as scary inside as the outside would suggest. It looks like a dark pit from the street, but it's not so bad once you're in there. Plenty of bar seats and a good portion of the place is taken up with pool tables. I stopped in on a Monday and the drink prices were completely acceptable. It's a smoking bar though, that will keep me away on nights when it might be more busy. I smelled like an ashtray after 3 drinks and the place wasn't even close to full. Ick.There was food being served sporadically, but it was all coming out of a small microwave/oven hybrid thing about the size of a small refrigerator. We didn't try anything, but nobody offered us a menu either.**We did go back again and on this trip we ordered a pizza to go with our beer. I don't recommend their pizzas. This was on par with a $3-4 frozen, grocery store pizza.

One of the first bars I went to, after getting to Pittsburgh. Almost got into a bar fight with a drunk guy, for no reason at all - not something you would want on your second day at a new city! Besides that, good affordable beer, friendly staff and the karaoke was fun.

I really like Squirrel Hill Sports Bar. They have a wide variety of beers, their tap selections are good, nice seating, pool tables, open mic nights, good eats and service. The BBQ out front during the summer is excellent too. I have met the owner a few times when I've been in there and he's one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. His interest in running a nice establishment is obvious when you take a look at this place.

Some time ago, I visited this bar and encountered a really hostile and xenophobic attitude from the elderly female bartender. After presenting my driving license from Puerto Rico the bartender told me that she could not accept my id because Puerto Rico was not part of the U.S. and asked for my passport. Although annoyed at her ignorance of US history, I showed her my US passport. However, this was obviously not enough for her who continued insisting that Puerto Rico was not part of the U.S. and that for security reasons she needed to PHOTOCOPY my passport, which is not only illegal, but was an obvious xenophobic and racist move to exclude me from the bar. I have not since returned to this place and I will continue dissuading anyone I know from ever stepping into this bar.

I remember this bar being PD'S Pub and Frankie and Georgie's but Squirrel HIll Sports bar is one of my favorite local dive bars in Pittsburgh. Whenever I do have the chance to get out and come here, I have always had great experiences and felt welcomed. This is a friendly bar with really great deals on drinks, a good place to watch Steelers games/sports, they have a pool table, you can bring your friends to socialize with and make new ones, the owner Barry is really nice and welcoming, and they also have Pop Punk Night once a month with no cover charge and it's a great environment to be in if you want to stay local if you live in Squirrel Hill! They also have Karaoke night on Fridays. I also know one of the bar tenders too from going there.
