Lovely experience for Thanksgiving dinner. I was concerned about getting my mother in with her transport chair, but no serious problems except needing help holding doors. Wait staff was very courteous and accommodating. Not the best menu for a vegetarian with food allergies, but I enjoyed my salad and my mother and brother enjoyed their traditional turkey dinners. Mom loved having dinner with an "Indian" - very attractive carved statue by our table.

Atmosphere:The place is absolutely beautiful on the inside. You can tell it is old and historic and it has a wonderful rustic, homey feel to it. We were seated near a fireplace that was very beautiful and warm. Our server was a very pleasant young lady with great manners and checked up on us often but not too often that it was annoying. I can not say better things about the customer service she displayed. She also gave me the choice to either box my leftovers myself or allow her to box it up. Usually it is one way or the other. It was disappointing to of paid $140 and drive 45 minutes for our meal that really was just lack luster but the customer service was just great. I still tipped her $30 because she did nothing wrong. Just wish the food had matched up with the service. Food:So I started off with their house Cabernet Sauvignon which was very delicious. It was the only kind of Cab they carried so I was happy it was good. For appetizers, I got their Liberty Onion soup and my friend Liv got their baked Brie appetizer. The Liberty Onion soup was very delicious. Maybe too much crouton to where it took up most of the broth but overall, I would eat it again in a heartbeat. The brie was also very good but for $18 the ratio between the actual brie and the things that came with it, there just wasn't enough of the cheese. It should have come in a larger portion in our opinion. Liv and I drove 45 minutes to come to this place specifically for the Beef Wellington. We have both wanted to try it for years. Beef Wellington is ALWAYS supposed to be cooked to a medium rare. That was just not the case in this situation. Hers was cooked slightly (very slightly) better than mine but both our puff pastries were burnt and mine (see pictures) was just completely overcooking. There was about a fingertip size portion of the middle that was slightly pink but It was definitely cooked to medium (perhaps a little more than medium). The mushroom in it and the sauce that came with it were very good but that was it. I was very disappointed. When the server came back, I asked what they normally cook it to and she said medium rare and I was hoping she would get the hint that mine was overcooked (I didn't want to complain since I was out with a friend and she drove 45 minutes) but she did not take the hint. We also didn't want to wait for new ones. Liv ended up eating hers but I only had not even a fourth of it. Needless to say, I took the leftovers home and never ate them. Perhaps it was an off day but I left hungry.

We've been coming here for special occasions for years. Love the atmosphere, food, staff and history. Such a unique restaurant right here in Ohio. One of these days we'll stay the night! Lincoln room is definitely on our list of things to do. Great job, as always!

I sincerely would not write a bad review over politics but let me first just say that this place is really corny with the political thing. That's your right, of course, but it's divisive. Also, noticed Confederate (traitors) art in the basement. Having said all that, if the food and service were good, I'd give it 5 stars. Service was excellent. The server was polite and friendly and drinks were refilled etc. Rolls were cheap. French onion soup worse than a chain like Applebees. Hey, broil your cheese. So salty with the onion straws on top. Clam chowder wasn't clam chowder. I have an open mind but it simply wasn't good. It was a broth instead of cream base. I make better crab cakes than their chef makes. Super "fishy" tasting. Barely edible. I enjoyed the scalloped potatoes and the fish was bland but others at the table liked it. I didn't finish my sad, old looking dessert. Alright, you like Trump. That's fine. But your food is bad and overpriced.

I love this place!!! We started with the bruschetta and baked Brie. Both were very good choices, the bruschetta tasted fresh and I liked the feta and tomato's on the crisp bread. The baked Brie was my favorite! The Brie and warm raspberry sauce were perfect together. I had the prime rib which was perfectly cooked and delicious. We finished with the warm apple crisp. The food was delicious and the courses perfectly timed. I loved the history of the Spread Eagle! The staff was very helpful and went above and beyond! Thank you Spread Eagle for an amazing time!

My wife and I came out on a Wednesday night to finally try this iconic landmark and had a Fantastic culinary experience. Our server Maddie was flying solo this evening but you wouldn't have known it based on the level of attention she provided. We paired our dinners with a chilled Sauvignon Blanc and it too was delicious. The setting inside the inn was better than we imagined. Hats off to the manager, chef and Maddie for providing an exquisite dining experience.

Spread Eagle Tavern in Haverton Ohio. It is a beautiful political tavern. It has many pictures of Presidents all over the tavern. It was also Christmas time so many Christmas trees and decorations. There are staircases that lead one way and end up in other areas of the tavern. The staff is very polite and helpful. The food was delicious. We had for appetizers to share the devil eggs, peppers, shrimp cocktail, the quiche, chicken pot pie. And for dinner the strip steak, chicken Wellington, shrimp and crab crepe, the broiled cod. And last vanilla cheese cake, the crème brûlée and the cherry pie. Everything was excellent and portions were so big we shared everything. Definitely when back in Salem I would love to come again.

Food and service was tasty as long as one did not mind all the Republican dignitaries looking down as one eats!

We have been here about 3 or 4 times in the past and went back to celebrate a special date. Although tucked away in the country the place always pleases. Service and atmosphere excellent, not hurried yet not left waiting. The food, as always was very good.

Everything was first rate. Server recommended a French Martini for my wife. Now it's her go to cocktail. Server was very attentive. Food was outstanding. Our table was tucked into an alcove so we chose to sit next to each other and watch the room. Enjoyed conversation with 2 adjacent tables. We saved room for dessert and glad we did. We'll be back!
