Speckled Hen Candy

My Mom requested Speckled Hen Chocolate this year as our holiday chocolate after being gifted some from a friend earlier in the year. So off I went on Xmas Eve day, on a 40 minute trek from the city to find what she called "the best chocolate on earth". I arrived 10 minutes before close, and the owner was so bubbly and helpful. I have some dietary avoids, and this store carries a variety for every body. She convinced me to try their vegan raw non-dairy and gluten-free bar for myself, made from coconut palm sugar that has a low glycemic index (great for blood sugar!) - it was as tasty a bar of dark chocolate that I've ever had. I also purchased some cordial cherries, white chocolate mint meltaways, and truffles for the family. And, they were regarded as among the best chocolate everyone had ever had. I'll definitely be back - it was definitely worth the drive!

Lovely high-quality handmade chocolates. Packaging is cute too--very giftable.You have to try the turtles.

We walked in as part of our Butler County Sweets adventure. They were handing out samples of chocolate covered berries, s'mores, and had other samples like their beer peanut brittle (amazing!). They had a class going on downstairs that we were invited to join where kids were making chocolates. It was an exciting place to be and we walked out with our favorites out of the many choices of chocolates. When we got home, we savored those chocolates, including a pecan turtle, coffee meltaways and chocolate covered pretzels! But let me tell you about their peach cordials. I only bought one and was given some direction on how to enjoy it. I was so sorry that I only bought one! That was a spiritual experience!!! Don't run in and buy them all because I live far away and I'm heading back there just for them!

We just had my daughter's birthday party at Speckled Hen and I couldn't be happier. The kids had a blast!! Val is amazing, she is super patient and kind with the kids. She kept the party moving with lots of chocolate dipping and games. The cost is totally reasonable and it was nice to have a party other than the standard trampoline park or swim party. All the kids are able to participate and be creative. I will definitely recommend the Speckled Hen not only for birthday parties but also the chocolate it is delicious.

My absolute favorite chocolate ever!! You can't go wrong with anything in the Speckled Hen. Val, the owner, (as well as everyone who works there) is friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. I live out of state and always make a trip to the Hen when I visit my folks.

Best candy. Large variety. Owner very welcoming. Definitely will be back. And again for a small town we have some convient and A-1 establishments.
