Beautiful historical mansion that is a must see if visiting western PA area. We stayed one night and had the place to ourselves. The room we were assigned was nice but we were upgraded to an even nicer room. They provide all the amenities. The matron Patty was super nice and checked on us in the morning. Breakfast was very good too however they try to do it later in morning apparently at 9 am and we really needed something earlier. They accommodated us but it seemed like a little bother. In any case check it out. Very cool property and reasonable.

Loved this B&B! The house was an old manor home from the early 1900's. Each guest room had a theme. My room was the Victorian Room. It was beautifully decorated, cozy and had its own private bathroom. Although the B&B was styled with old furnishings, it did still have modern conveniences such as an air conditioner, TV, device charging outlet, and a bathroom with modern fixtures. I liked that I was not lacking in modern convenience but still felt like I was visiting great grandma's house. The door had an antique lock with a skeleton key which was cool. I must admit, the lock was a challenge and not as easy to use as I had expected. I did practice with the lock a few times before I left my room in search of dinner. The B&B has off street parking which I liked. Parking at B&B is always a concern for me. Many times the facility does not have enough parking for the available units. That was not the case at this B&B. I only stayed for one night and had an early departure which made it impossible for me to be available when breakfast was served. Breakfast was served between 8am and 10am. I told the proprietor this was not a problem but she was kind enough to have the cook prepare an early breakfast for me. The extra effort and hospitality was greatly appreciated.Know before you go: The B&B uses a self check-in process. I reserved my room online using a hotel booking site. The online site reserves rooms by the type of bed in the room. The B&B reserves rooms by the name of the room. This made it harder when I did the self check-in because my confirmation did not indicate the name of the room, only that I had reserved a room with a queen sized bed. Everything was resolved without issue once I spoke to the proprietor but this is something guests should know before arriving.

Beautiful, unique bed and breakfast. The rooms are clean and private. No one is actually onsite but the house is entertainment in and of itself! Many pieces to examine - the history of the home is excellently maintained. There is a shared kitchen that is stocked with everything you need (bacon, eggs, butter, milk etc) as well as all the expected amenities for a continental breakfast. The back patio is spread out and the perfect spot for coffee. It's approx a 25 min drove to Falling Water, 50 min to Confluence. This was a tad farther than I thought when booking, but the home was worth it. Only drawback was the chimes that went off every fifteen minutes starting at 6 am!

In a nutshell, South Broadway Manor is the best!!!Here's the full story if you're interested: I went to Fallingwater for a girls' weekend. We had a blast but as I was driving home, I realized my engagement ring was missing... I started to panic because I was driving and couldn't look for it until I pulled over... so I called my friend who went on the trip with me to ask when she last saw it and I mentally retraced my steps the rest of the drive home until I could go through my photos to pinpoint the moment when I no longer was wearing it and carefully search through my luggage. I considered my muscle memory even and recalled that it felt like my ring was not on during our Sunday morning hike through Bear Run, but I recalled wearing it the day prior. My friend said she remembered seeing me wearing it at dinner on Saturday evening - I confirmed in a photo taken at the falls that I still had it on right before we left Fallingwater and headed towards the restaurant. But even still, it could have been at the gift shop, the visitor's center, a walking path, the restaurant, the hotel or worse - the gravel parking lot at any of those locations... what a nightmare! I tried not to freak out - I called Patty, the owner of the South Broadway Manor, to let her know what had happened. She was most empathetic - in fact, she and her entire staff were absolutely fantastic in their efforts to locate the ring! She even had the cleaning ladies going through the trash and they let the new guest of the room we stayed in know what had happened so they could keep an eye out for it. The next morning they went over the room with a fine tooth comb and even checked the washing machine that the linens were washed in... but sadly, no luck.I called the restaurant and Fallingwater the next day to make them aware but no one had turned anything in and nothing had been found. I had only been wearing it for 3 weeks and thought I was being so careful with it... it was horrible to think I may never see it again so suddenly...I got a call Monday afternoon from Pam, Patty's sister, and she told me they did everything they could to find it but unfortunately it's just not there. She said their neighbor has a metal detector so they will see if he could use that to help locate it in the gravel parking lot as a last ditch effort. WOW - they are SO AWESOME! I continued about my day and later in the afternoon I received another call from Pam. She said, "Today is your lucky day! One of the boys (Terry) found it on his way to work this morning! I don't have it in hand at the moment but he told Patty that he would return it when he got home." Apparently it was found in the gravel by my friend's car and it fell off when we were taking things up to the room on Saturday night. The temperature had gone from the 90s during the day in Ohio to the 50s that evening in the Pennsylvania mountains which caused the ring to get loose. It wasn't something I noticed either because I was carrying a bunch of stuff.Oh my goodness... I was SO relived at this point and finally allowed myself to break down in tears. I am absolutely shocked this happened in the first place but so thankful that it was resolved the way it was, right after I was starting to give up hope.It was promptly mailed back home safe and sound (with insurance) and I have since added it to my homeowner's insurance policy. I also bought a ring guard on Amazon which is a nifty little accessory that has helped to keep the ring on securely ever since. I also made sure to send the staff a little treat as a thank you present to express my deepest gratitude. I cannot thank everyone at South Broadway Manor enough - they went well above and beyond the call of duty and I am eternally grateful to them! This was probably the best hotel experience I have ever had in my life! I will be sure to come back and highly recommend this lodging accommodation to anyone traveling to Fallingwater / rural Pennsylvania. In addition to the wonderful friendly service, the rooms are clean, well decorated and very peaceful.I'm so pleased to share that this story has a happy ending!

Mom and I took a road trip from OK to DE for her 80th birthday. I wanted to find a special place for us to stay on the actual day of her birthday. And I did! This place was spectacular! So beautiful and so much history! So many details in the house and the stories of it, I could have spent several days just learning about & enjoying the house if we had had time! Each room is beautiful and unique and comfy! Mom and I had the whole downstairs (Oak and Parlor rooms) with kitchen and private bathroom. It was so nice we decided to stay an extra day. The owner, Pat, was wonderful and even gave my mom special treats and a card for her birthday! The food was also amazing!

We just wrapped up a lovely stay at the South Broadway manor. The rooms were comfortable and charming. The suit we stayed in included a small kitchen and washer/dryer and the bathroom had an oversized claw foot tub. It was perfect for a soak!! The house has an abundance of porches for relaxing on as well as an expansive patio out back. Additionally, Pat and her staff were wonderful and friendly hosts. We especially enjoyed our conversations with Mark. They never stopped offering us food and beverages and set up an inviting fire pit for the guests in the evenings. The location is close enough to visit Falling Water or Kentuck knob and is also not too far from some of Pennsylvania's wonderful state parks.

This was the best place I have stayed at. I highly suggest renting a room with your own private bathroom. Patty-the owner was very welcoming and cooked us all very good vegan breakfast and non vegan breakfast for everyone else with fresh ingredients. She also went above and beyond to take care of everyone! The back patio and bonfire at night was very relaxing. Our room was spectacular! It was very clean and well taken care of! My husband and I will definitely be back as soon as we make another trip that way!
