We had reservations to check out Sonny's on a Saturday night. They weren't crowded and it was nice to be able to have an intimate quiet dinner. The menu is limited and prices are quite high for the area ($25-50/entree) as an FYI for those that chose to go.The decor of the restaurant reminded me of a throw back to the Sinatra era. Black and white paintings, cigars, classic music all gave this place an old school vibe in a good way. Classic cocktails are on the menu (Manhattan, Old Fashioned, etc) to go along with this theme. I decided to go with the classic Moscow Mule which I did not regret! My dinner was the jumbo lump crab cake that came with roasted potatoes, snap peas and side of bearnaise sauce. These were some of the best crab cakes I have ever had! All jumbo lump crab meat without the breading filler a lot of other places use. The bearnaise sauce was the perfect dipping sauce for all of my food it was that good! They also served the dinner with warm yeast rolls right out of the oven that the butter melted right into for such a delicious taste! My date had the petite cut prime rib. Note that these steaks come out prepared medium rare as they are slow cooked in an oven for 8 hours. If you do request it to be cooked longer on a grill, there is an extra charge (which I do find odd). He remarked that this was one of the best steaks he can ever recall having!Service is also excellent at this restaurant. Rose is fantastic and wants to make sure you really enjoy your time.I would definitely stop in here again the next time I'm in the mood for a nice dinner out.

We went here for dinner and drinks this passed weekend and everything was delicious! We sat at the bar where a gentleman struck up conversation with us. We come to find out he was the owner and he bought us a few appetizers to try which were all delicious! We also had the prime rib which was great and crem brûlée for dessert. The people were very friendly and hospitable and the food was delicious. They also had a live jazz artist there and the atmosphere was great! We will be back again.

Was really looking forward to a great dinner. I'll start by saying our check (for 2) with tax was $175. Morton's prices with Denny's service. Total disapointment. Nothing was good. The prime rib was fatty and tasteless. The potatoes looked and tasted like leftovers. The filet was cut in half and burned. The cheesecake had less taste than a Hunts pudding cup. Like it had been frozen for too long. In all reality, nothing was seasoned, and everything bland. For $175. The drinks were bad as well. Save your money folks. Go to Sonnys Grille, their other location, for better food and service. Or The Back Porch or Luchessi's for great food. I came away feeling cheated.

This rating is highly divergent, depending on whether you're looking for a bar or for a restaurant. I will offer you two perspectives:1. BAR rating = 4 stars (calibrated for the local area)This is a great place to go to for a nice drink. In fact, it is perhaps the only place in this area that one can get a decent Old Fashioned or Manhattan. They are using the Luxardo cherries in their Manhattans and to my knowledge, this is the only establishment that is even making an effort to concoct this drink properly within a 30 mile radius. The execution isn't quite right (they are making these drinks too sweet and bastardizing them somewhat), but I greatly appreciate the effort. This establishment also features an acoustic musician displaying impressive (for non-musically inclined folks) talent that creates a relaxing, interesting, and unique (for this area) experience. The interior ambiance, decor, and architecture is novel, quaint, somewhat odd, and quite pleasant. The clientele is well civilized and appears to be comprised solely of upwardly mobile citizens who contribute to society and the economy.I would not recommend this establishment as a destination; however, if you are local and would like a nice, not trashy, relaxed environment to enjoy a few drinks with friends in a pub like setting - this is an excellent choice!2. RESTAURANT = 1 starThe food is not bad; however, it is not great either. When I go out to eat, I expect the food to be better that than what I can make at home - that is precisely why I go out to eat. This establishment has a very small menu (which I think is great), with a focus on prime rib. My main beef is with their signature prime rib. It tastes like it came out of a freezer or off of a Sysco food truck. The au jus doesn't taste "real", if you know what I mean. It almost tastes like a powdered just add water situation. That's all fine and dandy when you're selling prime rib at a bar for $15 a plate, but when the establishment bases their image solely on the Prime Rib, one expects quality. Anyhow, the prime rib we procure and make at home is a world away from this slop. I was disappointed, to say the least.Furthermore, the menu is BASIC, NORM, etc., which is just fine if done right. But this is NOT done right. The salads are fine, but honestly my 12 year old niece would make the same salad which is really cute and sweet, but I'm not going to pay $12 for that. It's not about how much the meal costs for me, it's about the quality of the food and preparation technique. I could easily have a better meal at home, and therefore, this food is not worth paying for.

This place does not take kindly to walk ins! For a place called Sonny's Prime and most of the 10 entrees are prime rib you have to preorder the prime rib, it is not available off the menu nor is the lobster or the filet minion. The food we did have was good but you can take the menu prices posted online and double them. The place was extremely dark so much so that we turned on the light on our phones to read the menu. The music was loud mire like a bar than a restaurant couldn't hear the person across from me in normal conversation. The worst part is they don't care since they have their regulars and they cater to them. Won't be going back.

Placed a takeout order late afternoon, 4 couples tops inside eating, order was ready earlier than quoted on phone, after I got it home realized why. The cheese sticks were under done in a pile looked like someone crapped them into container. Pizza was burnt on bottom and was very salty. Had a bad experience before, called them and they refunded price of meal. Definetly learned my lesson that this must be protocol of their food service. I work with the public and know you won't please everyone, I will never plug their business even though I always try to help the other local businesses around me. Do yourself a favor and rethink placing an order. WAS a PRICEY TURD! Wouldn't give them 1 star but had to to write review.
