Somerset Gourmet Buffet

Service is really good. The food is amazing too! My favorite would be crab rangoons. The cooks do really great and other best and work very hard. And the waitresses as well. Always will come here!

We stop here occasionally when we're traveling back to our home in NJ after visiting family in Ohio. It's an almost halfway point right off the turnpike. Standard Chinese buffet. Clean. Decent selection. My kids don't like that they don't have fried shrimp. My husband thinks they could have a better seafood selection.

Buffet is good, it's your typical Chinese Buffet and there is a great selection. I do recommend it if you are hungry and in the area.There is one catch though...I am admittedly not a fan of being engaged by others when I go out to eat. I can be downright anti-social at times, but I deal with it and I'm never rude. I tell you this because I want to be clear that I'm pretty good at not letting society get to me when I go out, I know what to expect and I politely deal with it.What I absolutely cannot tolerate is being stared at by staff, and being tended to incessantly...and I don't mean in a courteous and pleasant way...I mean angry stares and the feeling that I'm being rushed. There is no good reason why a person who goes to a buffet should feel like there's a time limit. It's a buffet, all you can eat. If I want to go in, take my time, and eat for two hours straight, it shouldn't be a problem. *Note: I have never been at a buffet eating for two hours straight, but if I wanted to, I should be able to...and so should you.Being watched by a scowling hostess and/or waitress for the entire time I'm eating is pretty rude and makes anyone that it happens to feel uncomfortable. Having my empty plates cleared within scant seconds of moving them to the side is a tad disturbing.Again, the food is worth the price, and I have no complaints about it. It's the rushed service and 'surveillance' type atmosphere that can be aggravating.By all means, give it a try. Just be warned that you may be watched as you eat, and rushed to do so.

My friends and I visited this establishment today. My one friend has a severe seafood allergy. When she went up to get hibachi she told the cook that she was allergic and the that they couldn't come in contact at all with anyone else's food. She said okay and went on to cooking. My friend and I stood and watched as she used the same cookware on everyone's food cross contaminating. My friend told her to forget it and throw it away. The cook gave her an attitude and then went to complain to her co workers. For the remainder of our meal all the workers starred at us making it very uncomfortable. If you eat here make sure you don't complain because it will ruin your meal for sure.

The Buffet has alot of good food to choose from, also friendly service and reasonable prices

Service was great, very nice hostess and waitress. The buffet was sooo delicious I loved it! My boyfriend and I went out to eat here just the two of us and it was only $31 for an amazing dinner.

Excellent food at great prices! So tasty! They even have the thicker sized steamed dumplings I like! Soooo much better than China Moon down the street.

For starters, this is by far the worst buffet I have ever experienced. I came in with a group of friends hoping for a good, filling meal. To my disparity I was astonished.by the horrid food and drink. I order a sprite and by the time I was almost finished and down to the ice I looked down in my cups to find a piece of MEAT. Not only was this a piece of literal meat, it was old, moldy, and had what resembled barnacles. White little chunks on the meat. When I was already extremely queasy I called the waitress over to ask her about what I had just found in my drink. She didn't even care. Just got me a new drink without any refunds at all. I'll tell you this was horrible. Even the food was as nasty as you could imagine. This is a horrific place just with 3 people I ended up paying $50 for the buffet. Despite the horrible everything I felt as if I was being rushed and death stared by all of the workers. Hated every second of this place except making fun of it. Never going back again please share this, and be aware of where you eat in Somerset county.

The food is pretty standard for an Asian buffet. Usually fresh and hot with a lot of variety, even for those who are looking for more Americanized dishes like macaroni and cheese and fries. The buffet is always clean, as is the entire restaurant. The staff can be iffy. They always make you feel a little rushed. I've seen the waitresses go out of their way, however, to help children and are really good and patient with them. Overall, a nice buffet and good place for families!

Very mannerless waiters. Waiters were looking at us as we write our bill and started pointing fingers when we wrote them 3 dollar tip to round up. They were coming one after another laughing at us. That's very rude and uncomfortable for us. Took the tip out, report it to the manager, and walked out. Never seen this before. Absolutely ridiculous!!!
