Slate

This review is way overdue - but, oh my goodness. Slate is absolutely a dream venue! We booked Slate one month before the pandemic started and they were communicative about ongoing restriction updates; thankfully, we booked so far in advance for our late 2021 wedding, we didn't have to move anything, but I'm sure they would have been easy to work with. The photos honestly speak for themselves. This venue is a beautiful, blank slate that you truly can design into your dream wedding space. We had 85 guests with a seated dinner (but I believe a seated dinner can accommodate up to 100). AND - the beautiful wooden farm tables, any rounds or buffet tables you may need, the chairs, and a bar set up are included in the rental price!I just cannot recommend this space enough if you are looking for a more intimate, naturally beautiful space. A wonderful new wedding and event space. They worked really hard to make sure that everything went perfectly. The space itself is supposed to be a backdrop for whatever you want, a blank slate, so to speak, for you to decorate however you wish.The walls are exposed brick, so there's kind of a rugged and historic look. The staff was very professional and friendly, and I must give them credit for a very well run event. They let you choose your own caterer and beverage manager, but they can provide a sound system, chairs, tables, and staffing. I was a bit surprised there was a $150 cleaning fee, I figured that would be rolled into the rental fee.

Filled out an inquiry on their website about a wedding in 2023. No answer for over a week. Sent another email & got a short response "not booking in 2023. Best of luck!". Keep in mind we're 3 months away from it being 2023 & it's not crazy to start thinking of finding a venue. Would definitely not recommend to anyone - highly unprofessional & not helpful whatsoever.

Slate seems to want to keep our $5,000 for our daughter's wedding while we are attempting to remain safe through this pandemic. I would not recommend Slate at this time. I hope they come to their senses and work with customers during this pandemic. At this point we are out $5,000 and Slate does not seem to care.All we want is to schedule a future post pandemic date for their wedding celebration.

Support and communication leaves a lot to be desired. The confusion around the laws during the pandemic surely made things difficult, but they were unaccommodating and difficult.
