Skate Castle

There's not too many roller rinks open now days but this one is perfect for our Saturday/Sunday family outings. Sometimes it's a little packed with the birthday parties, but regardless we love it for our Mommy and Son dates! Where else can you spend roughly $5 and have a full day of fun? Grab you skates and get rollin!

There are few skating rinks left in the area, so it's difficult to be too much of a critic.I love skating rinks and hope that the ones that are left can stick around for years to come.I'm definitely not the standard Skate Castle patron. I mostly came on my own to improve on basic skating skills for roller derby.This place mostly caters to children's birthday and school outings, with some teen nights scattered here and there. It's mostly your typical skate rink fare. The rink itself, a hard wood surface, is small but well maintained. There's also some tiles in the center of the rink that I've never seen anywhere else. Admission prices vary depending on the day of the week and time, but is usually under $5. It's extremely reasonable.The most off-putting thing is their strict no outside drinks rule. I brought a bottle of water and I was told I couldn't bring it in. There's a drinking fountain inside, but having a bottle is more convenient. Otherwise you're basically forced to purchase an overpriced bottle of water inside. I can't imagine the profit margin is very high in this type of business, but this seemed like a bit of a gauge.They're also closed during summer months. As a family-owned business and a slow time of the year for indoor skating, it's understandable. Just also worth noting.

I've been taking the kids I watch here for years last night we went and first off there had to be twenty kids on the rink with walkers it made it hard for others to skate because these small children weren't supervised and weren't paying attention . Then the old guy that was working the rink came up to me three times once to tell me I can't stop by the wall but I was checking on an injured child. Then was videoing the kids was told cell phones aren't permitted on the rink when clearly there were many kids taking pics I wanted to send them to there parents tried talking to the owner he didn't give a shit.

We had fun but there is a terrible smellthroughout the entire building. I couldn't get over it the entire time. And since it was raining when we went, we had to dodge trash cans out on the floor the entire time because there's so many leaks. Lastly, the men's rentals all looked brand new but me, a woman, my rental blades were very, very old. No support in them and looked disgusting. We had fun but I'm not sure we will make this a regular thing because of all of the above things I mentioned. My husband and I even thought maybe we could have a birthday party there but ultimately decided we would feel bad for guests to come and have to smell that terrible smell for 2 hours.

My wife, 3 kids and I have been here before. We came tonight, April 5 2024, paid and entered the building. We immediately turned around and left. The entire building smelled like soneome pee'd all over the place. We are half way home and the smell is still stuck in my entire families noses! ​

There were 2 people working the entire time we were there and the ticket both was closed. It took 3 minutes just to get my skates because the man was on his phone in the DJ booth

We had my granddaughter's 6th Birthday Party at Skate Castle on New Castle Rd in Butler , yesterday . It was a great time and experience . Kids had fun with having so much room to skate and move around. The manager / owner and staff could'nt have been friendlier or more accommodating ! We were not rushed out at the time the party was over . It took us a while to get everything together and out of there , but they didn't seem to mind at all and even assisted us with plates and foil for people taking extra cake home . Pizza was good .The "only" glitch was no air conditioner, but they had multiple fans and ceiling fans that did a good job. I would definitely go back and recommend this skating rink to anyone looking to book a party !!! Thank You - management & Staff, @ #SkateCastleButlerPa !

The best roller rink around. Personally I am not a very good skater I can move but I'll wipe out here and there. When I did fall a staff member quickly rushed over. I don't know what all the bad reviews are about. I would give 10 stars if I could. 10/10 would skate here again.

I have head great previous experiences at skate castle but I planned to take my daughter and her friends for her birthday. The website said that they were open and so did there outgoing message. Cut to us driving 40 mins, my daughter and her friends so excited and then having nothing to do on her birthday. Needless to say it put a real damper on the night and I was very disappointed in the establishment.

We just had out 8 year olds birthday party here. I paid for it in full before the day of the party. The staff just informed me I only put a 25 dollar deposit down but in actuality I paid 115 for the event. When I told the staff this that preceded to take my receipt. Ripped the coupon that they gave to my daughter for her birthday up and threw the receipt back at me. It's a fun place but the staff is horrible.
