Shrodi's - Cucina di Maria

An absolute gem that everyone needs to try ! We celebrated my mothers birthday here and couldn't of been happier. Between the food and the hospitality- we had a perfect experience. We tried the spaghetti aglio e olio, alfredo with shrimp and chicken Marsala. They were exceptionally delicious! The table also had some italian mules, espresso martinis and we then finished the night off with espresso. An absolute wonderful evening.It's hard to get authentic Italian food anymore , and I'm telling you that you will find it here ! We will be back.

I will be the first to say we are Italian food snobs because of our very Italian heritage. However! I could not wait to write this review. My mom the matriarch, myself and my very Irish guy who loves Italian food too stopped at Shrodi's for an early dinner. Yes, I've been seeing the many posts and comments on social media. Yes, I know the very long family history and know the infamous shrodi from his restaurant back in the good ol' days.So that is my prelude to this dining experience today.We walked in and were greeted by Natalie who also lucky for us was our fabulous server. Italian. Authentic. Tradition HistoryWhat is better than a quaint stone restaurant with a Basil garden thriving as you walk up? Well, a family tradition and staff who all welcome you as family .. yes, we know the family history of Shrodi. The menu was plentiful and the selections took much time to choose and with the outstanding help of Natalie we made our picks! What is cool is my mom is not a big eater anymore and chose off the senior menu which is very clever to have available and still had enough leftovers for lunch today. The stuffed banana peppers with Sunday sauce were amazing. Three served generously and one went home!Veal piccata was delish with a nice zest of lemon. Large portions! House salad with their house dressing to add according to our taste. Many kalamata Olives. Cherry tomatoes Fresh mushrooms. And freshest mixed greens Our Irishman picked his favorite penne with vodka sauce. It was the best he's ever had. And he's super picky. I have to agree! The added prosciutti and seasonings were truly mouth watering. The chef is masterful in the kitchen and believe me, every mouth watering taste was worth the wait! Natalie was fabulous and attentive to us from hello to see you again soon goodbye. Everyone waved goodbye as we left. Oh I forgot to mention they are making a bocce court out back to really add to its authentic Italian tradition and flair. It's a little bit of Heaven tucked away in Penn Hills! Do not pass it up!

Went on a Friday evening for dinner with friends. We were seated promptly at our reservation time of 6:30. We had a choice of where to sit either the dining room or the bar. We selected the bar. Our server was very attentive. We ordered a round of drinks, and she brought those quickly. We chose the zucchini as an appetizer. It was different than what I'm used to. The zucchini was cut up and formed into a patty then fried. It was pretty good. Our group ordered the chicken Parmesan, linguini with white clam sauce, and the salmon over risotto special. All of the entrées came with a choice of soup or salad and we all selected a salad. The salad was good, with with fresh greens and a homemade salad dressing. There was $1.50 upcharge to add Gorgonzola cheese, which I found to be very sparse in my salad. The chicken was very good, moist and flavorful and the portion was large enough that I had enough leftover for a lunch. The linguini was just ok. The salmon and risotto was also good. We waited a very long time for our entrées to be served. When we brought this up to our server, she apologized, and shared that they were understaffed. This is similar to what I saw from other reviews on yelp, that they are understaffed. Unfortunately, it really did deter from our dining experience so in summary, the food was fine, service was attentive, but we found the wait for the food was unacceptable.

We came here one other time. I forgot to review! And we came here again. Both times we have had amazing customer service! We made a reservation this time although they do take walk ins. I just wanted to secure our spot. We had the same waitress as last time and she is superb and super helpful with explaining the menu and so happy and bubbly. All the employees are great they all greeted us with smiles on their face and multiple people came to check on us. We had our 2 year old son with us and they treated him like the little sweet boy that he is instead of a bother. Everyone was so nice to him as well. The food is amazing! I got the Alfredo with veggies and my partner got the vile parm. This is our go to spot especially with the ambiance being so relaxed and chill the way that it is. I can feel the family atmosphere every time we walk into Shrodi's. We moved here last year and we will definitely be making this one of our regular places to eat! Thank you guys for being so nice and welcoming!

This place was great. I'm looking forward to going back. The chocolate martini was so good. The place is beautiful too. We sat downstairs just because we wanted to see the entire restaurant. We went early evening before the crowd showed up and everyone was very efficient and kind.

Food was delicious and authentic. Made fresh on site. Have eaten several times and different menu items and all fantastic. Carry out, order in, doesn't matter all quality and highly recommended!! Wish I had some mouth watering pics to share, but I devour my food when it arrives.

Incredible food in a really lovely environment. There is both a bar here and a wonderful restaurant. The food is all amazing and the menu makes it hard to choose. You are guaranteed to want to return to try something else. I had the delicious chicken Marsala with pasta and a salad. I also had the amazing tiramisu for dessert. Save room, if you can! You will be glad you made the trip to come here!

We had a delicious fresh fish sandwich this past Friday! The Mac n cheese is to die for. Our bartender Delaney was so delightful and fabulous with all our needs!

Did a tasting here and everything we had was delicious. The chicken Marsala was to die for! I loved the fried artichokes! The owner and staff were amazing! The outside looks like a house and if you don't look carefully you might miss the turn but it's actually very beautiful decorated with old photos of there family. It is family owned and operated. They have its own bar area with a separate entrance and they also host any events. The space is pretty large!

We were excited to attend a family gathering at Shrodi's with a dozen people who have not seen each other in almost 30 years. The restaurant was comfortable, the food was amazing (and I am from Brooklyn, NY), the service was GREAT, and the staff did everything to make this event extra special.If you are looking for a local gem, Shrodi's is perfect!
