Shannon Sweet Stop

We used for an event at work. A cart was brought to our event & the ice cream was served, kept cold & good.

This tiny ice cream shop is located right by the Castle Shannon T and I do mean by the tracks! There is two hour free parking on Willow St during the day. There is a 10% off your first purchase with Yelp check in. The owner was indeed friendly and wants to see his business expand. He currently serves Perry's ice cream from upstate NY near Buffalo. The cones are covered in paper patriot flags which I guess would symbolize Memorial day and the 4th of July. I sampled two flavors and ended up ordering them as a duo in a cup. One was called the "Queen of hearts" which was a dark chocolate covered raspberry. The other was "grasshopper" which was like a mint chocolate chip. Both flavors were very rich and so good! There is a chalkboard with daily specials and you get $.50 off if you show him your Connect card. You can also purchase beverages as well.I learned that he wishes to expand and carry take out items from some of the more popular ice cream places around the city. I offered some suggestions of some of my favorites and he will look into them. He told me that people don't realize that there is a small business district here in Castle Shannon and that most people usually drive up Castle Shannon Blvd without even realizing they are there. He no longer offers a rewards card since no a whole lot of people know about this place. Prices are very reasonable. Two scoops for only $4.00-you can't beat that and they are generous in portion. Ice cream is very fresh. The shop is open seasonally only. The free parking is always a plus for me. The shop opens at 3 on weekdays. Definitely worth a return visit!

This shop serves Perry's ice cream, which is a favorite of mine. The owner is super friendly and keeps a clean shop. We moved so it's not in walking distance as it once was but we don't mind driving to it occasionally just for the nice atmosphere and tasty ice cream.

Such a gem in Castle Shannon. There are many different types of parlors. Some try to be retro, some try to be ultra-modern, but the good ones are simply authentic. Shannon's Sweet Stop is definitely one of those good ones.Aside from having a great selection, it was a wonderful experience. Get a scoop and a hot dog and enjoy yourself. I'll definitely be back.

This hit the spot! The Peanut Butter Fudge had fairly thick ribbons of gooey fudge swirled through out peanut butter icecream. $2 with my PAT Connectcard. One sweet deal!

Very nice little ice cream shop in Castle Shannon. I came here for a scoop of ice cream and was really pleased. It's a very friendly place with a nice selection of about 12 or so different types of ice cream. The ice cream is right under the counter so you can see it before you order. They have some interesting flavors. I got something that was basically a chocolate mint. It was very good and they give you a pretty big scoop for $2.50. The discount with the Connect Card is nice, so I only spent $2.00. There are a few tables inside where you can enjoy your treat. I'll be back!

Super cute family run ice cream shop. I got a homemade waffle cone with a scoop of grasshopper pie ice cream. Yum! Like the perrys ice cream. Liked the fresh squeezed lemonade too!

We had the Shannon Sweet Stop ice cream cart at our daughter's fourth birthday party last June, and couldn't have asked for a better experience! The ice cream was delicious, and he brings a nice mix of flavors. Cesar, the owner, was there and just incredibly kind and patient with all of our crazy kids. We give Shannon Sweet Stop two thumbs up! Thanks again!

This place is amazing. Small family owned shop. Killer icecream and milkshakes. I was told the total and told the owner he needs to charge more. Couldn't recommend this place enough
