Shadyside Nursery

Wow how had I never been to Shadyside Nursery before? I feel thankful that I've discovered more local businesses during 2020. I ordered a few plants at shadyside nursery during the lockdown, and was so pleased that I went back to shop very safely with masks and all when things started to open back up. They have great quality plants, and their staff knows their stuff! I got a lovely pepper plant that was already flowering and I had a pepper off of it within the week!!! I got a few other new friends for our back patio that should last all seasons by moving them indoors this winter. I'll plan to come here next spring to get my garden started!

I've been to a few Weather Permitting events in the past where I always had a good time. Drinks, food, and good music--what more could one ask for? I recently went here to check out the supply of new houseplants they had announced on their Instagram and Facebook pages. The selection was beautiful-- snake plants, tropical plants, cacti, succulents, pothos, hanging plants, lemon trees and so much more! I purchased a tropical plant and spider plant--both in great condition. As I was checking out, I asked the owner about my monstera plant. She was very helpful in diagnosing my browning leaves and mentioned I could reach out to her via Instagram if her proposed solutions didn't help. Great quality of plant inventory, good prices, and convenient location.

plants were healthy, but overpriced. Not a great variety either. rude, apathetic employee who acted offended if you asked them questions . if you want a better plant shopping experience I recommend synthesis on walnut.

I was finally able to find a Florida Ghost for a decent price here. Nice selection of indoor plants, kind people, and good vibes and such.

Well let's see... this is one of the hidden gems in shadyside... it's a Nursery and a multicultural event space.They sell great flowers, planetariums and has your back on your landscaping needs.In the summer it's a venue for local bands, food trucks, and refreshments.Hope this place never leaves and stays here for along time.Love the people and what they changed about the neighborhood of Shadyside.

A friend and I had plans to build a small rain garden as a volunteer event and our previous arrangements for plants fell through last-minute. We contacted Shadyside Nursery and I was thrilled at the quality of customer service we received. After providing a rough plant list, Alex immediately got back to us, and was able to quickly provide us with a quote based on the available inventory and what we wanted to purchase. He was also able to help us find plants that would be well-suited to the conditions of our selected space. Every time that we emailed, we were answered within a few hours.When we arrived to pick up the plants, they were already placed in a designated location and we were able to load them up immediately. The space is beautiful, and I cannot wait to return in the spring to pick up some smaller household plants, and I will be sure to look into events at this location. I would recommend Shadyside Nursery to anyone in need of plants!

The Weather Permitting events are always a lot of fun. What a great way to spend Sundays during the summer; live music, beer and food trucks. Pet and kid friendly. Like the layout of this urban nursery, once there it feels as though it's somewhere in the country. Prices for plants, fruits/veggies comparable with other nurseries.

Bought a wonder lfilmchristmas tree here. Guys in the lot were super friendly and the tree was very fresh. Highly recommended. Looking forward to checking out the nursery in the spring.

My favorite nursery in pgh! I love their selection of houseplants and outdoor plants too. I occasionally swing by to purchase pots or soil, and have to refrain from buying a new plant every time I go (sometimes I am not successful, but that's okay!).

This place is AWESOME! The setup is very cool and the selection is great. Beautiful options. Alex is super friendly and knowledgeable. I stopped by the other day to try to find some nursery pots for seedlings I have. He told me I could go in the back and pick what I needed and didn't charge me for it. He just wants to share knowledge and help people be successful with their plants love the plants I've gotten from here and love the service.
