I haven't been here in a long time, but used to frequent this mill a lot in the past. They fresh-press apples right in front of you, and bottle up the apple cider immediately so you know it is fresh. Don't know if things changed over the years but instead of pasteurization, they used a UV light system to prevent contamination from e-coli or other bad stuff. The taste of the ciders vary depending on the varieties of apples being pressed ...a true cider master will have a recipe with a mix and match of various kinds for a delicious fall flavor ... Cheers!

Sally's Cider Press is my new favorite thing about moving to the area. This is a traditional cider press that you can bring your own apples to get pressed to turn into cider. They also sell cider if you don't bring your own apples. Not only is their cider delicious (made with local varieties of apples--definitely not a store-bought cider taste), it is cheap! $6/gallon or $5.50 if you buy four or more. I've seen other local cider purveyors sell their gallons for $10 each.Additionally, they sell specialty products like Apple Butter and Apple Cider Vinegar. Plus, the cider house farm market next door has a lot of other produce & goodies from farms within a 30 mile radius. Makes for a fun Fall activity/mini roadtrip from the city. They are open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays during the local apple harvest season (pretty much the month of October, give or take a few weeks in September/November if we're lucky).
