I stopped in on a Wednesday night for dinner. The place was pretty dead, but the service was excellent. I had the French dip sandwich and chips - was very pleased. Overall, this place is your classic dive bar. I will definitely be back.

Great spot to watch a game and drink domestic! The vibe in here is super friendly, very yinzer. They have all the domestics on tap and a good variety of bar food. One of my friends ordered the cheesesteak and said it was, "very good". We shared the hot pepper cheese balls. They were definitely crispy and cheesy, but not hot (spicy)! Just fyi in case you're worried about the heat. Definitely get them!

Horribly slow service -- it even took the server about 10 minutes to bring my credit card . Food was bland. Wasn't very welcoming to me and my partner.

Main menu items... Cuban sammie, bacon cheeseburger, and steak hoagie were good. The appetizers we had (fried Mac n cheese balls, mozz sticks, and rupe fries) were good but on the small side. The bartender ran the bar and served us with good attentiveness. We had refills without asking and she was very nice. Good spot for the atmosphere and a sandwich for sure.

Rupe's Roadhouse popped into my head when an old friend wanted to meet for dinner and a few beers. My friend is a meat and potatoes, shot and a beer, sort of guy so this fit the bill perfectly. On a Friday Pens Hockey night in Pittsburgh, this place gets jammed. We bellied up to the bar that was filled to capacity. The bartenders were pretty good about servicing everyone although a little on the slow side. No matter since the two women were friendly and we were busy catching up. Their beer selection is pretty decent and I tried a Vanilla Porter on draft that was just tapped and really fresh. It was so good. My friend ordered up some Hot Thighs to start. These are chicken thighs with garlic and sauce on them. He really enjoyed them and had enough to take home and share with his brother, who also really loved them. He ordered the gyro and said it was very tasty. I had the Reuben that came served with a big knife plunged into it - must be a culinary trend here because that happened to me recently at another place with a cheesesteak. Don't kill the sandwiches, people! I opted for fries instead of chips and was glad I did. The fries were fresh and hot. This is a super cozy local tavern with decent food and friendly patrons. We were impressed that the owner/manager came around to ask how the meal was even though it was so crowded. He seems to really be trying to build the food side of his business and has recently added Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday brunch/breakfast from 9-12, which I may have to try (they need to post a menu for breakfast online).

Absolutely nothing fancy, but stands out in its category. Is it a dive? Not really. The bartender was friendly and she made a good Bloody Mary. We ordered a Cuban sandwich, that had plenty of meat and was delicious. Best Cuban sandwich we've had in Pittsburgh (even if not done on a grill press). Great Gyro. We WILL go back. Patio games in the back on Sundays.

I've been driving Camp Horne Road regularly, (or as regularly as PennDot will let me) for almost five years now. There used to be a little hole in the wall called Mark's on one of the turns. The only reason I remember it was called Mark's was because my boss at the times name was Mark. There wasn't much else memorable about the sad building. But now, WOW. They have done so much to revamp that place. New exterior, new entrance, and although I can't speak to the old interior, this is really nice! They have a nice sized bar, and plenty of high tops and low seaters. Tv's abound, but it's not super noisy. In traditional Pittsburgh style, memorabilia and jerseys are framed throughout the dining room. Rupe's had a Groupon going, and for $10 for $20, I decided to treat my parents one night. Dad is a creature of habit, and got the fish and chips. Mom got a pepperoni flatbread, and I tried the gyro bowl. So. Much. Food. Dads fish was baked, really well, just the way he likes it. Mom shared her flatbread with everyone, and I thought it was really good! Crisp and cheesy. What more can you ask for? And my gyro bowl? Amazing. Lettuce, fries, tomato, and more lamb than I knew what to do with. I had to eat the whole thing. (Shame, shame) Service was good, considering it was happy hour, and we weren't consuming alcohol. We didn't need to ask for refills, and I'm pretty sure everyone working in the bar that night came and brought us napkins and asked how our meals were. Nice! They just launched a new Groupon, and you bet I'm gonna get another one! Happy Eating!

This place has the best gyros in western PA I that I have ever had. Really good cucumber sauce. Really good fries too. Gotta stop if you are in the area.

We want to love Rupe's Roadhouse and that is why I give it four stars. The truth is not as easy. For diners who are NOT regulars or friends of the owner:Ambiance. First date? Looking for a dining experience? Go somewhere else. You won't get laid or a second date. Consider fast food and West End Overlook (is that still a thing?). Married? Your spouse does not want to eat here. Too dark, too loud, sticky tables, regulars who will give you the side eye. One star. Dining in. Unless you are a middle aged, blue collar booze lover with a lot of time to kill this is probably not your destination. The tables are sticky. The room is dark even when it is bright and sunny outside. The regulars are there and probably looking at you in a way that makes you uncomfortable. The television volume is guaranteed to be too loud. They are understaffed and they probably do not care about attracting new customers. I may have been able to dine in once or twice. Two stars. We aren't regulars. Take out. We've successfully ordered from Rupe's Roadhouse. Don't bothering to order online because it won't work. Call and try to shout your order to whoever answers or go in and order face to face. The fried fish sandwiches are among the best in Allegheny County. Worth your trouble. Will they get your order right? Probably not. Don't be a picky eater and accept that you may or may not get cheese or tartar sauce vs cocktail sauce. I would give six stars for the fish. Pricey and worth it. Generally speaking, I've never had a bad meal from here. Salads are great, sandwiches are great. This is where the place excels. Delivery? One star. Online ordering does not work. See Take out (above). Best to go pick it up yourself. Besides, how will you get stared at by the regulars if you opt for delivery? For Diners who are Regulars:Food is great, you're not in a rush, have a few beers or cocktails while your order is being prepared and have a great time staring at the strange people who wander in while catching up with your neighbors and coworkers. Five stars!

Stacy was extremely helpful and the food was good and the drinks were spot on. Found this little gem driving by trying to kill some time. Will definitely go back. Place was also clean!
