Rudy's Subs

Great sandwich shop. Very friendly staff. The breakfast sandwiches are really good. The seating is sparse. Give it a try.

This was my first time ever at Rudy's ... it was fair. The place was fairly empty when I went in for lunch. Two people working which seemed like plenty. The menu is pretty big and I actually think the kids would do well here, but it was just me for lunch. I got a cheesesteak. The first several bites were really dry. It took until the middle of the sun before I hit the mushrooms and peppers. I'd also asked for onions. Which I finally got to in my last several bites. If they would have evened out the toppings on the sub rather than piling them in spots it would have been much better. Not sure if I'll go again. Sub I thought was small for a half size too. But I guess that's their normal size.

Can't say enough good things about this Rudy's location. We have two Rudy's closer to us, but they're not nearly as good, so we drive out of our way to go to this one.It used to be owned by a really nice man who often spent a lot of time visiting & talking to the customers. He did a lot with the local school district's sports team, too. Sadly, he passed away, but his son now owns this place & is just as nice. My ASL isn't what it used to be, so we often talk to each other by writing down what we want to say (he's deaf). He never fails to smile and wave when he sees us. We missed going here during the pandemic when everything was closed. I'm so happy this place managed to survive the lockdown.I got the daily special, which is a half sub, fries, and a soft drink. I got the cheeseburger sub because I don't know of any other sub place that offers cheeseburgers subs (something I loved in my younger days in Maryland). But his cheesesteak sub is really good, too. Sometimes it's downright painful trying to make up my mind what to order.Kiddos got grilled cheese kids meals, which is actually on a hamburger bun, not wimpy bread. It holds up better & one got the dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets kids meal. By the time I realized I'd forgotten to snap a pic of them, they'd already devoured them. The prices are reasonable, the people are friendly, and the food is good. It's one of our favorite places, even if we have to drive out of our way to go there.

I've tried the Italian sub and the meatball. I've order both multiple times and they always turn out great. Every time I go in to order they're always very busy but I never have to wait long for my food. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a good lunch spot.

I will start withbtge Italian hogie. It's been a while since I have eaten here and I had forgotten why. My family owned 3 Rudy's stores. Plum, Cheswick and west view. We had in my opinion the very best Italian I ever ate. Ever. Capicola, hard salami and soft salami "cooked salami". Now the softcsslami has been replaced with a shoe leather tasting ham. Plain ham. It's not a ham hoagie. It is an Italian. Meat is never cooked properly no matter if it's plum or Monroeville. Alway under cooked. The quality of meats are surely not what they used to be. I'm so disappointed that today is definitely my last sub. I'm saddened at the way this iconic eatery has declined and it has been for many, many years. I guess I'm going to stick with Penn Station for now on.

Great sub shop on the Golden Mile Parkway in Monroeville. Plenty of choices, sides. This time I had a whole Cappicola, which is about 12 inches. Good fresh bread, Cap was delicious, a little spicy, which I love. I added pepperoni, bacon, provolone, and grilled onions. Then topped it off with Ranch dressing. A side of yummy onion rings, beer battered, crunchy, tender onions, fried perfect. Sub was delicious, a great sandwich shop in Monroeville.

A bit pricey, but very good. Great family place. Big portions. Fresh ingredients. Recommend stake sub, gyro and turkey. Boom.

Wonderful! I got the steak sub special and it was GREAT! Full of meat and fixings. Worth the traveling to get there. The onion rings were very good also. I'll be back.

So this is not a shot at Rudy's subs. The monroeville 22 location and swissvale locations are awesome some of the best out there. It's a shame this place has the name Rudy's! It's just not good. I have gave this place to many chances. The bread is bad the meat is not the same quality. Most recently I got a mushroom cheese steak, pretty sure it was a few steakems with no flavor on a piss poor hogie roll (think of some BS you can buy at any grocery store and take it down a notch). No mancini's bread no good steak just a shitty sub. I ate half of it and needed to doctor the second half up to eat it.

Absolutley amazing meatball sub. Fresh bread, sweet sauce, and great sized meatballs.And I quote, "Utah...get me two"
