Roma Italian Restaurant And Pizzeria

Great food & staff are very attentive and kind. The place is very clean and nicely kept.

My previous rating was 4 stars, but based on my most recent visit, I will round my rating up to 5 stars. Pizza Roma is an Italian-American restaurant chain in Pennsylvania. My husband and I have been a customer of this Roma restaurant on Perry Highway three times: twice for eating in the dining room and once for getting takeout. The menu lists soups, salads, sandwiches, pizzas, pastas, entrees such as chicken piccata, etcetera. For our first visit, the seating hostess took a couple of minutes to seat us although many tables were available. Then she told us, "Help yourselves" and walked away. A lunch buffet was set up nearby and offered several foods for $10 per person, but my husband and I did not want the buffet. Several minutes later, the waitress returned, and we asked her for menus, which she gave us minutes later. We placed our order. When the waitress brought out our foods later, she saw my taking photos, and she began to pay more attention to us. She gave my husband a refill of soda.For our second visit, my husband and I got takeout food. The restaurant had the food ready on time.For our third visit, we ate in the restaurant shortly after they opened for the day. We were the first customers, so the waitress quickly served us. Throughout the service, she was very friendly, and she made no mistakes with taking our order or with bringing our foods, beverages, and bill. Here are my reviews for my husband's and my foods:Caesar salad - 4 stars - The lettuce, tomatoes, olives, cheese, croutons, and dressing were fresh and tasted good.Strawberry chicken salad - 4 stars - The field greens, strawberries, grilled chicken, feta cheese, toasted almonds, and dressing were fresh and tasted good.Junior pizza - 4 stars - My husband and I shared this junior-sized pizza. His half was topped with meatballs that he enjoyed, and my half was topped with green peppers that were fresh.Garlic bread - 4 stars - The slices of bread were large and had a crispy crust and buttery center.Carbonara - 4.5 stars - My husband ordered this entree for both dining in and takeout. He gave his opinion of this entree without my having to ask: "I like this. This is good!" The angel hair pasta and the fettuccine were cooked well, and the cream sauce was rich and flavorful.Chicken marsala - 4.5 stars - This entree was smaller than I had expected, but I liked the taste of the chicken, mushrooms, and sauce. For my sides, I chose broccoli and a house salad, and the ingredients were fresh.Chicken wings - 4.5 stars - These wings tasted spicy but also sweet and very good. The meat was large and juicy. My husband chose bleu cheese for dipping.Provolone wedges - 4.5 stars - This appetizer consisted of several large pieces of fried provolone. The cheese was very gooey and rich. A tasty sauce was on the side.Chicken parmigiana - 4.5 stars - For this entree, two large, juicy pieces of chicken were breaded, fried, and topped with sauce and cheese. On the side was my husband's choice of pasta, a fresh salad, and garlic bread.Lasagna - 4.5 stars - This entree consisted of one large piece of lasagna. It contained the right amount of noodles, beef, sauce, and cheese. My sides were a fresh salad and garlic bread.

I'd have given it a 5 if the service had been better, took us forever to get waited on after several attempts. Food is good here, pizza is really good. Well established location, I remember going here in high school 50 years ago, and i loved it then & now

Pizza Roma is a decent restaurant with excellent food. If you come here, I really liked the veal parmesan and the calamari. I liked how there are many locals here and its a sign that this a very good restaurant. I didn't like the service here. Maybe it's because it was the middle of the week, I don't know. But when we first arrived, we had to wait a long time to be seated. As it turns out, the hostess was also the waitress. We also waited a long time for our food and considering it was a Wednesday with a practically empty restaurant, it makes me wonder what a busier time looks like.

Came here for dinner with family on a Friday evening. The place wasn't too busy. We were seated right away and our waitress was very friendly. It was a super hot and humid day in the Burgh, and the cool AC inside the restaurant was a much appreciated reprieve. I ordered the (classic) Calzone, which is cheese along with pepperoni and sausage. While I'm usually super impressed with Roma's food, I felt the flavor was a bit lacking in the calzone. The pepperoni and sausage was rather scarce, and the main element I got was a thick stringy mozzarella cheese. I wish there could have been a bit more flavor infused into the dough or filling, because I found myself smothering my food in the sauce in order to add some flavor. The portions were very big, especially for the price. I was able to split my calzone with my dad, and both of us left full.

The portions are SO BIG you guys! I was eating pesto pasta for three days. Trust me, those were three glorious days of eating!The restaurant has been understaffed due to Covid but the quality of service and food withheld.

Great food and service. We always sit in the bar area. Missy is the best. lunch buffet is a great price also. Changes daily

No consistency making pizza. Pay a whole lot for greasy, flimsy, and pizza not cut. Drivers could support boxes flat in transit so toppings don't go to one side. All the time

More bad than good......busy Saturday and seems to to be staffed.Food was subpar at best. 1/2 order came out and rest came out later. Got a salad we didn't order. We usually have good food but this time not much

Last time we were there the food was not as good as in the past. Service was good! As a long time customer will give them a second chance!
