Rock Room

I mean is it really proper to review an old school punk rock dive?It's a neighborhood joint that's got a built-in crowd, welcoming to those of use who show up every now and again as well.Good drink prices.Great staff.Seen a lot of great bands here.

Fun, smokey dive bar and music/performance venue frequented by punk rockers in denim and leather, the crowd that really digs the Mad Max look, post-apocalyptic rock'n'rollers stepping off their motorbikes and ready to strum five strings in the irradiated wastelands of tomorrow. For this venue think a more grown-up version of Mr Roboto Project, with a greater celebration of artistic abrasiveness and harder music on offer. Abundance of pinball machines and a jukebox as well as bookshelf for your entertainment. The environment is kind of like the squatter house in the movie Suburbia, think entertainingly profane statements scrawled in sharpie on the bathroom walls. There are also a few Non-Alcohol options here if boozing isn't your thing. You will inevitably meet intriguing people here - I have only been here a few times but had a very insightful conversation with an itinerant busker who decided to hang out with a banjo in the back of the bar.

Rocks habe gotten a REAL bad reputation lately bc dumb ass city officials use them to deter hpuselsess individuals from pitching tents on their sidewalks. This is not the same kind of rock. You rock, rock.

Ugh, this place.... Beer, beer and beers, you can smoke here. Hell yes! There are no yuppies here, which is nice, you'd think a place like this might have Gyros, which are pronounced guy-rows, after the rowers of the ancient ships of Greece, specifically, the isle of Lesvos, where they were of course invented, to feed the aforementioned rowers of the great ships. Sadly, this place does not have those delicious sandwiches, the first sandwiches in recorded history. They do have burgers, hoagies, and a plethora of cheap eats, classic pub grub, priced responsibly, and to move. Also, they stopped doing "karate nite drinking competition " which isn't really a good thing, or even a thing, anywhere, ever, so there's that

I like it here- the place was nice and dirty and the music was loud. I can smoke and watch shit on the TV. Our bartender was this sexy little girl with great curls. She was smart as a whip and kind of a bitch. It was perfect for the aesthetic of the bar. Will be coming back. But the food made me really sick so don't eat here.

Best dive in town. Good music, cheap drinks, and the bartenders are all fantastic. Everyone is super welcoming who frequents, you'll meet some of the most interesting people there.

I only visited the Rock Room one time-- in September of 2021. The atmosphere was nicely calm and welcoming. There were two acts there the night I visited. The first was an exciting band that was new to me.The second was one of two bands from my block--; who I finally got to see play in public, but still in my own neighborhood, which was the clincher for me--. My only question was that of why has this great venue stopped booking new shows, and when will they start bringing them back? Thank You--.

Absolutely the best public restroom I have ever been in! Was driving through western PA and needed a bathroom quick! Luckily this little rest stop was open! Btw, bring your own soap.

The Rock Room is the Crawford Grill of Pittsburgh punk rock. An actual vestige of a living city.

The people here are so nice. The person that works on Saturday is so nice and is the best person ever. Will definitely go again especially on Saturday nights.
