Unique, delicious, fun...and I'm full!Renee has been whipping up her tasty homemade mac 'n cheese to go along with her meaty pork, beef and turkey (yes, turkey), ribs for years. The cornbread is delicious and as dense as a black hole. Served along with wisdom from a life well lived, Renee over loads the plates with fresh off the grill goods. This is legit Bar-B-Que!The mild BBQ sauce is sweet and tangy. Try the hot version if you have more guts than I did. Renee taunted but scared me off with a devilish laugh.Prepare to take leftovers with you. A great spot for down home food and a slice of local life. Do it.

Stop by Robbie's after work, and she said she was all sold out for the day, and she apologized. But I said hey that's. A good thing! Which in my mind, meant I had to come back!! And sure enough she did not disappoint. Had the pork ribs, which was a very generous portion for half rack. Spareribs with rib tips. I couldn't finish my meal it was a lot of food, perfectly seasoned and smoked. Sides were delicious, had the Mac n cheese! Tray baked with that delicious little touch of caramelization on the top that you only get from baking it. Greens were tasty! Have come to come back and try her beef ribs. Run single handedly by Wonderful lady, who will tell you how it is...no sugar coating with her. Great pace for some real good ribs!!

It seems that I always stumble upon my favorite places accidentally. I tried to go to someplace else but wasn't able. While driving back home I saw the sign for this place and decided to check out the yelp. The appearance scared me a little, but the reviews drew me in.I'm glad they did, because everything about our experience was wonderful. Unfortunately, the day we were there the owner had just come back from vacation so there was a more limited menu. That didn't stop us from enjoying an incredibly delicious meal. We tried some ribs, macaroni and cheese and corn bread. My kids devoured the corn bread and macaroni and cheese. They kept asking for more cornbread (and still ask about getting corn bread "from that BBQ place" It was some of the best corn bread I've ever tasted. I'm not even sure how to put it accurately into words. Just make sure you try it. The macaroni and cheese had a great flavor and pleased both adult and preschool palates. The highlight, though, was the ribs. They were incredibly meaty. Probably the most meaty I've ever had. And the sauce was delectable. I tried both the regular and the hot. The hot was crazy spicy, but not in a burn your mouth so you can't taste anything else fashion. It was full of dynamic flavor. There were a few bites that I needed to calm my mouth down with a bite of mac and cheese in between, but if you like spicy, definitely try the spicy! The owner was there that evening and was extremely friendly to my kids and talked with me quite a bit about her place. I almost felt like I was having dinner in her living room she made us feel so at home and comfortable.I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. But seriously, I'd go back just for the corn bread.

Cute little spot. Dont judge it by the appearance, seems like a little hole in the wall- the RIBS ARE SLAMMING. Best ribs ive had, and Renee is a sweet little sassy woman who knows her BBQ. She has a great personality and makes you feel at home. My first time here, i got the ribs with a mustard sauce, collard greens and mac and cheese. I will be back for sure.

Robbie's is the definitive mom and pop place in Pittsburgh. They were so nice that I felt compelled to write a review with the small hope it will help them succeed. I ordered take out ribs and mac and cheese from here. When I arrived Robbie and his wife were putting my food in the bag. They lowered the price of my Mac and cheese because it was the last of it and they didn't want to charge me full price and handed me a free can of soda because it was my first time. We talked for a few minutes and I was on my way.The ribs were great. Cooked to just the right texture. I got my ribs with the Hot barbecue sauce, which they told me they've had to tone down a little lately, and it was very good. It was more barbecue with a subtle kick. I would probably get something other than the Mac next time, but that might be biased because of it being the last of it all.I think the best part about Robbie's is that they called me the next day to make sure I was happy with my order. Robbie said on the phone that he tries to do that with all new customers and it really added a touch of that classic mom and pop feel.

We chose Robbie's after reading some of the Yelp reviews and we were not disappointed at all! Robbie and his wife serve up some of the finest BBQ you'll ever have. And they are some of the nicest, most wholesome people you'll ever meet. But don't be alarmed by the ambience (or lack thereof) as the food is what Robbie's is all about. You'll get paper plates, plastic utensils and a roll of paper towels for napkins. Again, don't let that bother you. Robbie and his wife are truly good folk who love serving up great food. Three of us were all impressed with the collard greens, potato salad, Mac 'n cheese and cornbread. They were out of coleslaw or we would've tried that as well. As we dug into the delicious side dishes, Robbie's wife warned us to save room for the ribs. Wow!! She was not kidding as these were some of the meatiest, tastiest and tender ribs we'd ever had. But more amazing is none of us could finish a "half" slab even though we were loving these ribs. One of Robbie's ribs has the equivalent meat of six baby back ribs. We strongly recommend this true "hole in the wall" gem of a BBQ joint. Will definitely be back next time we're in Pittsburgh!

Found this place by chance. Came in shortly before they close. The rib was very fresh, juicy and tasty. She is great and the food is even better. Would be back. Btw the corn bread is very legit. Very good place.

I don't even know how people are rating this place 5 stars. I drive by this place every single day and there are never customers there. I tried this place 6 years ago because of the reviews and never went back. The ribs that were served to me appeared to have been eaten already and was just dipped in bbq sauce. There was no meat on the bones. The Mac n cheese was watery with no taste and the corn bread was soggy as if it was pulled out of the garbage and mushed together.

Great down to earth place with up in heaven food. Very generous and delicious portions. Renee is a wonderful chef and amazing hostess. We had the mustard bbq sauce and her super amazing hot bbq sauce (she ain't lying when she says it's hot!) with a full slab of pork ribs and her homemade sides. A place not to miss, and we're definitely coming back next time we are in Pittsburgh.
