Lamb Bolognese. Tasty. Next time, I'll ask for extra sauce.

Came here for restaurant week and was so excited to see they opened their doors to the public. There was no sign indicating where the restaurant was but after staring at google maps I went into the parking garage elevator and saw the button for Rivers Club. From there, the restaurant was three sets of stairs up. The food was a big let down. The hot foods (soup and ravioli) were room temp. Flavor was just overall a little underwhelming. The service was top tier- super quick and brought out the assortment of teas and asked if we wanted another tea bag of the same type of tea to make it stronger. The place was empty (very unexpected for restaurant week) if you want a private dinner without renting the whole place out then come here on a Tuesday night.

This used to be a ClubCorp venue and it is now called "Invited". We are members at "The Houston Club" in Texas but they have a reciprocal arrangement with all of their venues across the U. S. This is one of our favorite clubs. The ambiance is classy and intimate with a spectacular view of the city. We usually like to eat at the bar. We had dinner here on a Friday night and had our regular server Manna. All the servers are great, but she is the best. She's very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. I truly appreciate her professionalism. They have a new menu (pictures attached). Also attached are pictures of our meals. I started with the "Autumn Beet Salad" and selected the "lamb bolognese" as my entree. The salad was okay. The bolognese included a wide noodle pasta and sliced lamb. It was tasty (especially the lamb) but the pasta could have used some more sauce. Next time I'll ask for extra sauce. My husband started with the "Lobster Sherry Bisque". It had a nice sized piece of lobster in it and he really liked it. For his entree, he got the 412 special which they have on Fridays and it changes from week to week. This week, it included a lamb chop, filet mignon and lobster tail for $41. He really really enjoyed this. I suggest if you order a steak, ask them to cook it one level less done (e. g. If you like medium, ask for it medium rare). My husband did this and said it was cooked perfectly. We really like this place a lot. It's a really chill vibe and a relaxed hang. I rated it a 3, but if I could, I'd give 3.5 stars.

I saw the Rivers Club on the restaurant week list and thought it would be a good opportunity to take a look in a less sales-y sort of way. It's been on my radar for a while and I've never gotten around to it, so I gathered up some friends and off we went. I will say that I felt welcomed here and everyone was nice, but besides that, I found the entire experience somewhere between confusing and downright comical. The dinner started ok. With the website directions, I found it easily and was greeted immediately. Again, everyone was welcoming and friendly. But our server was very clearly new and had not received the level of training one would expect from a private club. He meant well and he tried hard - I'll give him that. But he was totally flustered for pretty much the entire meal. Every request or question threw him for a loop. Simple questions too - like what sodas they had. The pace of service was very slow and all of the steps or service were sort of awkward. Even little things like the changing of silverware were done with a certain fumbling. He was further hindered by the fact that as a private club, they were clearly just not set up well for non-members and/or separate checks. All in all, the service end of it was a very well-intentioned train wreck. As far as atmosphere, I don't think they rolled out the best experience for prospective members. We were seated in a sort of weird spot away from the windows and the atmosphere just felt off somehow. It was comfortable enough, but we felt isolated. The background music was a strange pick and barely loud enough to drown out the silence of the place. I don't love a loud restaurant, but this place was uncomfortably quiet. The bathroom had seen better days and like the service, I just felt like it didn't match the concept. The food was so-so. The salad was the star of the meal - bright and flavorful. My only critique would be that they need to half the grapes (ever try to pick up a whole grape with a fork?) My steak entrée was very under-seasoned and lukewarm. The peach cobbler was ok. Not bad, but nothing to write home about. I actually might have preferred the chai crème brûlée that was on the menu, but they were out of it. At the end of the meal, the separate checks weren't entirely right (again, we didn't realize when we asked that they clearly just aren't set up for that sort of request). After 2+ hours though, we were ready to go, so we just went with it. Also at the end, we discovered that they add a service charge with a note explaining that it is not a tip nor a gratuity. Although I was happy to tip anyway, I felt like that probably should have been disclosed on the restaurant week advertising or during the reservation process. The night was topped off by the world's most confusing parking garage. It took 4 elevator rides to pay and return to the car (6-4, then switch elevator banks, 4-2 to find out that pay station closes at 7pm, 2-S to pay, then S-4 back to the car). The traffic pattern in the garage awkwardly changes and then changes back, so if you aren't careful, you could find yourself accidentally going down the up. Not a big deal - parking garages suck - but the comedy of us trying to figure out where to go sort of capped off what was already a weird experience. At the end of the day, if their participation in restaurant week was meant to bring in potential members and entice them to join, I feel like they really set themselves up for failure. At the very least, they missed the mark.

The restaurant at the Rivers Club is a great perk for members. Most of the food is heavily discounted with your membership, and they offer a variety of weekly specials. On Fridays, check out the lobster and steak special! There's also a buffet special around the holidays- like NYE or Valentine's Day. The staff goes beyond their way to take care of their guests. We always feel so taken care oAlso check out their wine tasting events if you're a big fan of wine. We've enjoyed several of them in the last year. The club is a great spot to meet new people, network and overall have a good time.

Rivers Club' athletic facility and trainers are the very best. I have been with my trainer, Robby Heinrich for 13 months. I have gotten so much stronger thanks to his coaching. He knows just what to do to keep me motivated and improving. All of the Staff are so friendly and encouraging.

Not normally my type of place but I often have to be here for work luncheons, presentations, meetings, etc.The staff is great and the food is always really good.If you don't know where you're going, it can be a tad confusing at first because there are a couple of floors.

Newly renovated in 2016, the Rivers Club is a great place for hosting events. The staff is very professional and the location is excellent. On issue I've noticed is often difficult to find your event. The Rivers Club is on multiple floors, so giving your attendees good directions is essential. The Rivers Club is located Downtown, yet I rarely have issues finding street parking, although many choose to park in their garage. Although not a member myself, I have several friends who belong and they enjoy the convenient, central location.

This review is specific to the gym facilities only. I come here pretty much daily for the gym. It's nice because it's well laid out with a ton of equipment and it's very rarely super busy. If I do have to wait for the squat rack or a bench it usually only take a few minutes, aka enough time to stretch. The facilities are always clean and the locker rooms are so well maintained (especially the showers, which is amazing). The front desk staff is always lovely as well.My few issues are that there aren't rubber plates, or enough plates, in the back lifting area, the equipment is a bit outdated, AND that the hours are limited in weekends (only stays open until 3/3:30 on Sat/Sunday).Membership is not cheap (especially for Pittsburgh standards) but it's way better than Gold's gym around the corner if you are gym junkie.
