My wife and I decided to try this place on a whim and we got a few different things to try out. Unfortunately nothing was good. It was either dry or just not very tasty. Also, they way way over price thinthings. We wouldn't go here again. So many other good places so I'd save your money and go elsewhere.

Stopped by because Prantl's makes every must-eat list. I knew I had to try the burnt almond torte, as everyone suggested and TBH I had low expectations. Um, I loved it! My friends also loved it. I loved the crunch and flavor of the almonds. The cake was tasty and so was the filling and frosting. All 4 of us ate our shared slices before we even got back into the car. I should've let mine get a bit more warm since it was cooled in the case BUT it was too good to wait. I got 2 little things to try (red velvet and white chocolate) but the the burnt almond torte is the star. I'll definitely go back again if I pass by the area.

Recently opened, 4th location of this iconic bakery. Known for their Burnt Almond Torte and it does not disappoint. This particular location was nicely stocked with plenty of options. Pies, cakes, donuts, cookies (I absolutely love their thumbprint cookies) bread, muffins, and much more. Reasonable prices for quality baked goods. Easy access from the highway and there is off-street parking. Definitely a nice welcome to the neighborhood.

I've passed this location of Prantls (I think it's a local chain around in the Pittsburgh area) often when visiting a friend in the White Oak/McKeesport area. However, the road I am on where I see it's sign, while getting onto Rte 30, doesn't allow me to enter their parking lot. I'm never sure how to get to them. This week I used my gps to find it (a couple back roads lead to it).The staff was very friendly and helpful. The prices were par for a bakery in this economy. They had a decent variety, clean location, and fast service. However, the glazed donut seemed heavy (not light/fluffy as all I've ever ate in my life), and the glaze very wet and drippy (not a stiff dried sugar glaze). The lady lock was fine, but wasn't sure what type of white creamy filling it contained (not my favorite, but ok). The chocolate filled donut (picture shown) was a little stale and filling sparse/dry. I'd definitely try other items there if get the chance to stop again. Always best to give a business a second chance as every place has off days, just like people. My best wishes to them. I hope things are better soon as we need local business to survive, especially bakeries with all the goodies they have to offer us to make us happy.

I ordered the burnt almond torte with pastry cream for Christmas but was disappointed to find they gave me the custard version. I know things are hectic with holiday orders but if you are going to charge $35 for a cake, make sure you are giving your customers the correct items.

First, I thought this was a bakery. It's a distribution center for items made in their Greensburg location. I went in on a Saturday morning around 8AM expecting to have my choice of an array of items and was very disappointed to find half full display cases with limited selections and hear that they don't make the items there. So I settled on 2 scones and some cake bites. The scones were not buttery and they were more bread like than scones. The cake bites were not that great either. Very dry and not overly impressive. I had Prantl's years and years ago and remember it being great, no so much now. I feel like I would have been happier with giant eagle cupcakes. The $30 spent was really a waste in my opinion.
