Delicious allergy friendly chocolates that can be shipped! Finally a local company creating chocolates and popcorn for food allergy families. The chocolates were packaged with care and arrived undamaged. The chocolate was top notch, and oh so reminiscent of other big name local chocolate companies (Sarris, Betsy Anne). The inside of the Salted Chocolate, Pretzel, and Potato Stick Bar was very crisp and paired perfectly with the chocolate. *Can also be found as Sarver Chocolate Company!

Cathy's Custom Cakes is now operating under the name Frosted Envy, which is a far more appropriate name for the elegance of her edible are. First of all, Cathy is the nicest lady you'll ever meet in your life. She's an expert baker who creates pastries so beautiful you'd think it couldn't be as tasty as it is beautiful. Surely the creations cannot be as delicious as they are beautiful. Wrong. I am obsessed with Cathy's creations, from Wedding and grooms cakes to cupcakes to edible wedding favors/Party favors like customized chocolate covered Oreos and popcorn (which comes in several varieties catered to food sensitivities--a MUST in 2018!)If you aren't considering Frosted Envy for your pastries or Popped Envy (sister company) for your popcorn needs you're doing yourself such a disservice.

Cathy was a delight to work with - she is both an amazing cake designer and an incredibly kind person. My fiancé and I aren't big cake people, so I had a very simple vision for my cake. After speaking with Cathy, I told her my thoughts, and she ran with them and came up with a gorgeous concept. The final product did not disappoint and was the most beautiful cake we had ever seen, and we had constant compliments on it throughout the evening. She is truly an artist and such a delight to work with. We also discussed a custom groom's cake, which she designed beautifully. If you want someone creative, someone who will guide you through the cake design process, and someone who has a vision for all things beautiful (AND delicious!), go with Cathy!

Ok so they were DELICIOUS and came out better than I had expected. The icing was buttery smooth and the fondant tasted very good unlike other fondants that taste bland or have an after taste to it. The lettering and decorations were very neat and colorful.

Cathy made my Wedding cake and cupcake tower for our winter wedding. They were beautiful! She sat with us and talked about our theme, invitations, colors, etc and came up with a wonderful display. We had the dark chocolate with Guiness Buttercream, and the apple cake with cinnamon buttercream flavors. All delicious! Highly recommend for your special event.

I really wanted to use Cathy for my son's birthday cake after reading all the glowing reviews for her on various websites. She was initially prompt and helpful when responding to all my questions about the small 3D cake I wanted, which I assumed was something she could do because she had pictures of them on her website and openly advertised on her Facebook page the fact that she liked a challenge. Which is why I was surprised when she suddenly told me that she didn't want to make a cake for me anymore because a 3D cake was more trouble than she was willing to put in - a strange response from someone who makes custom cakes for a living. Despite this, I was still willing to work with her and asked for something less complicated. After she provided me with a quote for a new cake that was simpler but larger, it became obvious that I wouldn't need such a large cake for an intimate birthday party, and I asked her if she could do a smaller cake for a date that was still a few months out and attached a photo of the cake I had in mind. I never heard back from her again. You shouldn't run a business if you don't even have the decency or professionalism to respond to a customer's inquiry because you've lost interest. On one hand, I understand a small birthday cake is small fry compared to a big, lavish wedding cake, but it became very obvious to me that her interest in making a cake waned with every correspondence. She may be an established cake-maker in the Pittsburgh area, but after my negative and somewhat strange experience with her, I will not consider her for a cake again, and I will share this sentiment with everyone I know who is interested in a cake for their special event. She made me feel unappreciated as a potential customer, and I wouldn't want other people who try to use her cakes for their small event to be disregarded in the same way. If large wedding cakes is all that she's interested in making, then she should say so from the outset instead of turning her nose up at customers who approach her for anything else, and she shouldn't claim to be 'Cathy's Custom Cakes' if she clearly won't customize cakes to her customer's wishes because they're too much effort or too small.
