II really like Polish hill. There is a unique charm and sense of community that I really . I wanted to try this place because the name is classic reflection of a Polish Pope. What's not to love?! We came in on a Sunday at around 1 and all the tables were reserved.1 ENVIRONMENT - this is definitely a locals bar and it's meant for the locals. **It's SMOKING FRIENDLY** We were barely greeted by the bartender, she was busy with the others. So we finally grabbed a table and she took our order. 2 ATMOSPHERE - nice enough bar and a lot of TVs. It's great to watch games. Since they allow smoking when I came home I smelled or more like wreaked of cigarettes and maybe a stale putrid smell. It was not a good smell. It was still in my clothes HOURS laters. We were in there for about 1 hour. 3 SERVICE - staff was eh. Like I said before she did her job but we weren't important to her at all. It's not the type of place I'd be going back to and I don't think they want others going in there.

Drinks are strong and cheap AF. Patrons seem loyal. The smoke was ridiculous. I get that it's a smoking bar but get a smoke eater or at least a fan for airflow.

I walked into this bar on a Sunday. It was completely empty at 1pm. The owner told us everything was reserved. Seems doubtful. The cigarette smell was unbearable. Will obviously never come back but also would strongly discouraged anyone except if you want to walk away with some disease and be treated very poorly.

Stumbled upon this place in Polish Hill and fell in love. It's small but nice. I love the wood on the walls and tin ceiling. Bloody Mary is to die for and they're an all day Saturday special. The staff is so nice almost unbelievably nice. Patrons are equally as nice. It's like a little family. Can't wait to go back.

Great local bar. This place might become our go-to for game nights. Comfortable stools, nice vibe with wood floors and a copper ceiling. Not too loud, you can hear the game but you can talk, too. I've been here on a Thursday night and a Tuesday evening and it's been the same vibe both times. There is a jukebox - touchtunes- though, so they may have other nights with a different flavor. I don't know why you would list this place as a $$$, I'll add some of the posted specials here: $2 IC 12oz bottles During Pirate Games$2 16oz draft Miller Lite during Pens GamesHappy Hour 5-7, $1 off everything$4 Chicken burrito w/ guacamole and chips$2.50 Jumbo soft pretzelThese are the specials I can see from my seat. I think they have flatbread, too. This place would be practically perfect, except, as I just found out, it's a smoking establishment.

I like Pope's... But sooooooo wish it was a smoke free establishment given that everywhere else in the neighborhood allows smoking. Nice bartenders, great prices, the accept debit cards/credit cards unlike when it was Sarney's, and it's close to home... So it's even better. The space is really nice, and there's really not a bad seat in the house if you are watching a game. I just have a very hard time with the smoke so hence the 3 stars.

This bar is a gem in Polish Hill! Great drinks for cheap. the food is wonderful and reasonably priced. Well whiskey, diet coke and grenadine for $2.50. Tammy the bartender is great and makes a mean drink. It's like Cheers, where everyone knows your name.

Great neighborhood bar! Although I wish there was a non-smoking bar in Polish Hill, at least Pope's has a pretty serious air filtration system in the ceiling, so it's not as bad as some of the others. It's nice to have the option of a cleaner bar for my friends who don't appreciate the grunge scene as much. If my parents were in town, this would definitely be the neighborhood bar I'd take them to! They have a good selection of craft beers on tap and even have a few sandwich options. The owner is often there bartending and he is very friendly!I'm glad Pope's is in the neighborhood!

We love Fran and Pope's and we haven't been in since Covid, but the surly and RUDE bartender that served us today? I have never encountered anything like that here. If I walk in and she is there we will go elsewhere.

Very friendly, down home bar. I wish we could pick it up and take it back to NC! Cleanest bar I have ever been to! Frannie, the owner, was so great!
