This is the locals local. What a find! As you may say, not much to look at but everything you want in a diner in regard to selection and delicious food. No street appeal, but don't let that scare you off. I am reluctant to share how good things are because it is not a large seating establishment and I don't want to run out of room for me to go there. In fairness to the Pop Jackson's staff, you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu and it won't break your wallet doing so. Check out the mens room, what I call a rodeo toilet area due to the limited space on either side of the toilet. But, here again, it gets the job done.

First time visiting this restaurant for awhile. The service is pretty much a joke and they're not even busy. I have been waiting for over 45 minutes to get my food. Never again.

I try to be fair in any reviews I post. This was my first visit to Pop Jacksons. It was a spur of the moment decision as I was headed through Salem. There were only 2-3 customers sitting in booths when I entered at 1:45 pm. My drink order took a little longer than I anticipated based on so few customers. After receiving my drink, my server never returned to my booth. However, she returned several times to other customers who she seemed to know. I ordered a hamburger and a coke. The cook brought my hamburger to my booth. Soon after, I had emptied my coke glass and I placed it near the edge of my table for a refill. At some point, I realized that my server had walked outside and I asked the cook for a coke. She immediately returned with a refill. Since no bill was left at my booth, I walked up to the cash register and my server appeared to take my cash. I purchased a good hamburger for either $3.09 or $3.49. My server said my bill was $7.00+ and I said, " that does not seem right." The cook stepped up and said they use canned Coke and there are no free refills. It would have been better if the Server had mentioned that when she took my order. I understand the individual can charges and have experienced this before at very small restaurants. After paying my bill, I do not recall a "thank you" or "have a nice day."So, I am not going to let one Server who is short on interpersonal skills result in me slamming Pop Jacksons. The cook was nice and I enjoyed my hamburger. It had a home cooked flavor. The restaurant appeared clean both inside and outside. I will let some time go by and then give Pop Jacksons another chance.

Classic little dive. Never had bad food. They always make fresh pancakes, they don't allow the batter to sit for hours. I wish they were 24/7

This restaurant might not look the greatest, but the food is really good. The staff are all so friendly. You won't go away hungry, prices are reasonable too!

This eatery has been a Salem landmark for years, the food is excellent as well as the service, and the servings will fill the most ample appetite.
