I really enjoyed the variety of quality food products and the lively discourse with the owner, who definitely doesn't believe I know how to cook. He's definitely a character, I will enjoy visiting with him in his shop again and again. Good prices, friendly staff and owners, some of the hidden areas are worth a look. Bring a small flash light. Reminded me of stores I experienced in Asia, all business up front, deals in the far edges. "Uncle" made us feel so welcome and wanted to talk about the history of the store, and his life here in the States. I love this place soo much. Will you find a deal? Most likely. Very welcoming shop. Amazing produce, and frozen section. They have vintage sneakers in the back. Don't miss it! So much fun on a rainy day! If you close your eyes, you'll be hard pressed to feel you are still in the US. Very clean around the food areas, although the "hidden" spaces were a bit dusty with pristine products. Please note that the owner will not budge on listed prices, however...look around and you may find the same item at a much more approachable price.

This place is great. Please support local businesses. It is such a pain to go to the Strip, and much easier to go here. The owner is very helpful. If you don't see what you need you should ask, it may be hiding in plain sight.

I've been shopping at the Pittsburgh Asian Market for years and couldn't believe that their business wasn't on YELP. I'm always impressed with their selection of inexpensive and authentic foods. The store is well organized (ethnicities by aisle) and the owners are very helpful and friendly. The store itself has a bit of a warehouse-feel to it, and more often than not, there are only one or two other shoppers in the store. Their strong point is with their selection of sauces, dried goods, and canned goods. They also carry quite a bit of African specialties. The produce section though, is pretty small and they don't carry a lot of fresh foods (like noodles, tofu, etc.).If you want to avoid the crowds in the Strip, this is the place to go for basic Asian, African and Middle Eastern cooking needs.
