Popped into the shop for the first time a few weeks ago, and was delighted to see that vast size of the building. Massive seating area, and a wall full of PA wines. Every nook and cranny has an old fashion but modern look. Very Pennsylvania. The staff were super friendly in there greeting, but also just providing resources based on my wine preferences. While I'm not the biggest fan of east coast wines I love supporting PA as much as possible. The staff was very helpful in finding tastes that I like, and the ones they selected were pretty good. P.S. - They have wine ice cream. It's was a pretty interesting conversation piece during the holiday season, and also tasty

My first time in this shop was last week as I was picking up wine for a Yelp event. I admit that I didn't even know the lower level of this building turned into a wine/spirits/beer shop. I was greeted right away when I walked in. On one side of the space they have seating and a bar where you can hang out and enjoy some drinks. On the other side is the "shop" where you can purchase the beverages of your choice. I think it's really neat that they only sale wines made in PA. Everyone was very kind and helpful and answered all of my questions. I will definitely be back here to do some gift shopping (and grab a cocktail to go!)in the future!

I am so happy this spot exists and am also excited for its future too! This spot is dedicated to all things PA wine. Immediately as you walk in you'll be blown away by how many wineries we have in the state. And let me be up front too, don't sleep on this place! I know the PA wine stigma, that all wines are sweet. I'm here to say that's not true!I tried Mazza Cabernet Franc and the Mazza Bubbly. Both were excellent. I loved the Cab Franc, it was easy to drink and on the drier side. The bubbly was perfect and for $14 it's such a steal. This is going to be my go-to for bubbles now. They also have a good amount of ciders too so I picked up the 6 Mile Cellars - Chai Tea Hard Cider. There's a ton of variety, you really will be blown away. Plus, there's a freezer for boozy wine ice cream and sorbet! This will be such a summer treat. The building also houses Helltown Brewing and a restaurant. It's a very large space. I cannot wait until we can all safely gather here, it's a fantastic new space!

A great selection. The first time we went in the lady offered us multiple taste tests. This time the gentleman did not offer any and wouldn't let us try one of the wines we wanted to buy. Other than that he was very personable. Holiday hours it opened at 11 am. Second time buying wine, and I was very pleased with the taste.

1700 Penn Avenue has given me a new favorite spot in the Strip District. We stopped in to purchase a few bottles of wine and were immediately welcomed with open arms (ok not literally ..I'm mean it's Covid). The staff was friendly and made sure that all of our needs were met. They are knowledgeable about the products that they carry and eager to lend you their expertise. The PA wines that we tried were delightful. We cannot wait to go back when restrictions are lifted and enjoy a tasting in the open space or even outdoors when weather permits. If you are in the strip, don't walk by this place! CHECK IT OUT!

I stopped in for the first time on a Saturday morning in the strip. I was picking up wine for an online Yelp event but I am glad that brought me to the store! They had a great wine selection and I loved the open layout. They had a winery visiting from the Altoona area while we were there and we were able to taste a few wines and we ended up buying two of the ones we tried. It was great to have the option to taste especially since PA wines (while good) can be different than some of the traditional wines you are used to. I definitely recommend swinging by when you are in the strip. And the overall space, 1700 has a great outdoor space that offers wines from the shop and Helltown beers.
