Pennie's Bake Shop & Espresso Bar

OMG. I go into Butler almost never, but recently discovered this gem when I wanted to treat myself after having to go to the Social Security Office The first time I went I got a piece of blueberry coffee cake and a huge cookie with a peanut butter cup in the middle.... DELICIOUS. So good. Coffee cake was extremely moist.Today I went again after another appointment I had and got a cappuccino and salted caramel cinnamon roll...again, SO GOOD. Coffee was delicious. They also gave me a tiny cupcake sample that was yummy. The people working are always so kind and helpful! Highly recommend!

I had an impromptu trip to Butler and decided to stop here for some good coffee before heading out. Thanks to yelp this shop came up for me. I agree with other reviews that the private parking lot is a huge perk. The business is surrounded by narrow streets (and road work was being completed on the one right in front of them). The staff very helpful in pointing out their seasonal specials and answering my questions. I ended up settling on an iced Blueberry crumble latte that came with a cute mini cupcake. I also brought home an espresso brownie and a reeses big cup cookie to share with my husband. The espresso brownie had a really good flavor to it and the reeses cookie reminded me of those pb drop cookies you see around Christmas. It's probably a good thing we aren't local or we'd be here wayyy too much!Give it a try! You won't be disappointed.

This place is an absolute GEM in Butler! It would be a gem even amongst all the competition in Pittsburgh! I came here to specifically get the cinnamon rolls and they did not disappoint... what was even more surprising is how delicious the drip coffee was. Wow. I need to go back and get a few bags because it was that great. I drink my coffee black and always buy the best and this was really up there.Can't wait to go back to try more delicious pastries!

I live 45 min from Butler but probably hadn't been there in 15 years. But I saw someone bring a box of goodies from Pennie's to an event recently, and found 5 stars on yelp, so it became a priority!I tried a cinnamon roll, an oatmeal cream pie, a lemon cookie, and an almond cupcake. Prices were a bit high overall. I'd say the cinnamon roll was the best pick combining both taste and value. Oatmeal cream pie was good. Cupcake was solid but rather small. Lemon cookie was a bit disappointing. I'd go again if in the area, but probably won't make a special trip again.

Whatever I had (Oreo cookie crème coffee something) was straight up heavenly. The pastries are above amazing. So warm and soft ughhhh and the service is top of the line. The baristas are so nice and efficient. Pricing is reasonable as well. And thank goodness they have a parking lot! I loved not having to stress about parking. The wall when you enter is so cool -- all colorful and filled with icons of the different businesses around the city. I will definitely be back!

Wonderful coffee shop and stop for small bites. Locally they are the best and my favorite spot to grab a quality cup of coffee and high quality pastry. Place is very small so sometimes can be hard if your trying to find a place to sit and enjoy.

Cute shop with friendly service. Has its own parking lot so you are off the street. The iced heath toffee mochas were excellent, but the bakery goods are showstopper cute and tasty. Great place to stop if you are in the area.

The tea is amazing. They are so sweet! Go here!Also the Reese's cookies are so fire!

Tried their scones. These are not your traditional scones. These were sweet drop biscuits and were terrible. I don't know if it's the recipe or inferior ingredients. I suspect the later. Coffee was okay but pricey.

The best frozen mocha coffee drink I've ever had. I enjoyed all the bake items that I've had so far too.
