I had ordered food for my engagement party. We ordered the herb stuffed chicken, mashed potatoes and vodka penne pasta. Everything was outstanding, especially the herb stuffed chicken. It came with the stuffing in its own pan and everyone commented on how well seasoned the chicken and stuffing was. The mashed potatoes were creamy and the pasta was a perfect compliment to the chicken. I would recommend buying sternos and tray frames to hold the aluminum trays. Would highly recommend this caterer.

I was happy to work with David and Nancy for my mother's retirement party. I was party planning from out of state and Penn Bistro made everything so easy! They made sure to get every detail correct and even provided helpful recommendations on how to make it even better. When I arrived the room was set up beautifully. The service was fantastic. The food was really tasty. I worked with them and we decided on Italian pork tenderloin, blackened fish, mashed potatoes and gravy, macaroni and cheese, salad and rolls. Everything was super. My mother, family and friends were all thrilled. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you Penn Bistro!

My Daughter's baby shower was there today and they couldn't be more nice and made her feel so special. Tables were set up lovely. They really are so accommodating. Food was delicious!! We had the steak and chicken salads, roasted potatoes, fries and more. I would definitely have another event there and highly recommend Penn Bistro.

Penn Bistro and their owners are my favorite caterers in the greater Pittsburgh area. The food is as fresh as can be. The recipes are delicious and I have heard guests asking for the recipes. When you look at the website you can see the elegance of their designs and materials. Whether it is a children's party, a wedding or a committee event or spirts team event, the testimonials on their website are absolutely correct and representative of what I have experienced and heard. My condo association has hired them for our last two holiday events and have reserved them again for this year. The attendance is high. They book some events a year in advance and that is often repeat customers. You will not be disappointed. I never have been. You are in good hands at Penn

I recently had a birthday party for about 40 people at Penn Bistro and it was perfect. Nancy and David were extremely helpful from the begining to the end. I live in California but my family is in the Beaver County area. I had a family member go there to check it out and they were more than happy to face time with me so I could also see it and answer my questions. It's very reasonable pricing and you can bring your own alcohol if you choose so your not paying outrageous alcohol/bartender fees like at some other places/restaurants. We were able to go there early and decorate. Nancy and David were very accommodating. They can make the event as casual or as formal as you like. All the details are really up to you. They even had a cupcake stand they let me use free of charge. They don't "nickel and dime" you to death like some places. Everyone at the party was very happy with the food (we had "the classic"), there were no complaints. In fact my Uncle ordered their mashed potatoes to take for a holiday party because he was so impressed how good they were. They told us they could pretty much make any food you want even if it's not on the menu so you could create your own menu if you wanted to. The staff was really friendly and helpful too. My Dad is in a wheelchair (yes, they have a ramp for wheelchair access) and not very mobile and the wait staff was the 1st to offer to make him a plate. That truly was above and beyond. When the final invoice came there were no surprises or added fees. Everything was expected. Best part was we didn't have to clean up after the party! I would definately reccomend having a party here. The building is older but I love the character. They also had it decorated really nice for christmas in the foyer.

This past Saturday was my sisters bridal shower. We had searched for places to host it, and had settled on Penn Bistro in New Brighton. On Tuesday of last week, we met with one of the owners at Penn Bistro to go over all the details. We originally had planned to do the brunch menu for about 50 people. Once we started asking questions though, we decided to drop it down to the breakfast menu instead and save $150. We specifically asked what the differences between the two menus were and were told that the only change was an entrée and a vegetable. We were also told we could come in and decorate on Friday, that the place would be ready. Fast forward to Friday, we show up to decorate and the place hasn't been touched since Tuesday except for navy tablecloths on all the tables. No cleaning had been done, the tablecloths were wrinkled and the rugs were a mess. There was actually still food found under one of the tables. We continued to set up but kept noticing how dirty the place was every time we went to do something else. The one rule they kept reiterrating was no glitter or confetti, and I understand, it's a nightmare to clean up. When we took a closer look at the linens on the buffet table, they were COVERED in glitter. Like they had never even been washed from before. We tried to lint roll it off, but it was a lost cause. Who wants to eat glitter? They were to supply mirrors for us for centerpieces. Instead of them being ready, she had set out a cloth and cleaner, we had to clean them ourselves. We also ran the sweeper ourselves because the rugs looked horrible. Then came Saturday and the issues continued. We all arrived at 10 AM to put the finishing touches on everything. As soon as we arrived, we were hounded to pay the invoice. The owner actually sought my other sister out in the bathroom to pay! She told us that there was no fee for cards and a 3% fee to use a check. Then when we asked about it again, the story changed to a 3% fee for cards and no fee for checks. The bride to be was paying for the shower on her CC so she could get the cash back to put towards her honeymoon and all the bridesmaids would just pay her. While she was busy opening gifts, the lady came over and wanted her to sign the paperwork immediately. VERY rude and tacky. Once the paperwork came back, we noticed it was a 4% charge to use the card, not the original 3% like we were told. When we spoke up and confronted the lady, she told us that it was actually what she was charged. I informed her that she told us it was only 3% and that was all we were paying and that you cant go and change the price after telling a customer what it is. She came back and found us a few minutes later, basically threw the money at me, and said that here is your refund, and VERY rudely commented about not charging us for 5 styrofoam cups for coffee because my mother forgot to bring them. (We were never told we had to supply our own cups!) So since she was being overly rude, I thought it was time to bring up all the missing items from our breakfast bar (ie. Mini muffins, lemonade and iced tea) that we had noticed earlier were not on our buffet table. She informed us that if we look on the website, that they weren't included in the breakfast. When we told her that we specifically asked about the differences on Tuesday at our meeting, and she never mentioned it, she said "well Im not perfect and that's why you didn't get them". Im sorry but if you don't know your own services and what you offer, then you should not be answering questions and hiding behind the "Im not perfect" answer. Once the day was over and the other bridesmaids were talking about the issues, it also turns out that one of the workers ate chocolates off our dessert table and drank at least one of our mimosas! WHILE WORKING our shower. I was VERY disappointed in the overall appearance and attitude of the owners and will not be recommending them to anyone.

I recently had my bridal shower at Penn Bistro- it was horrible. The owners were complelely unorganized, no set rules, or "contract" and no sort of description of what needed to be done and what was included. One staff or "owner" would tell you yes, the other staff or "owner" would tell you no and SCREAM at you for doing what you were told earlier that you could do. VERY frustrating. Besides that, the owner threw containers of MY food all over the floor, and expected me to clean it up. Very unprofessional, unorganized, and down right rude! I would not recommend this place to anyone!!

I was very dissapointed to hear about the service at Penn Bistro for a friends event. Her nice day was ruined by the management at Penn Bistro who showed no class pointing out an issue for something that was extremely minor. Their conduct left a dark cloud over an event that is supposed to leave a wonderful memory.
