This place is terrible. this guy took a great market built by two brothers and ran it in to the ground. It's shame what he did there, he thought he could compete with Giant Eagle. What an idiot, it's worthless now, he's been closed for months and months now he's asking for money so he can re-open.The last time I went in to get a hoggie they told me they already cleaned the slicer and couldn't make me a hoggie an hour before they closed. I turned and walked out and never returned.

Visiting Pittsburgh from Chicago. Mother lives a little east on the river and we were searching for a new Italian deli to grab some sandwiches. We came across Patsy's and after reading the reviews on Yelp we were sold. When we arrived the owner met us at the back of the store in the deli section and proudly reviewed the menu with us and discussed our tastes. We wanted to measure Pittsburgh against the delis we've visited in Chicago, New York, and San Francisco so we decided on the Italian Hoagie as a familiar item.Patsy's OVER DELIVERED! The owner gave us his reasoning for each ingredient and why he uses the vendors he does while making the sandwich. It was fun to learn the history of where everything came from and why he sourced those particular items. When we arrived home and opened up the wrapping the bread and ingredients smelled just as fresh as the deli itself. The meats were fresh and each had a distinct flavor, the vegetables were crisp, and the bread was everything you hope for from an Italian deli.If we lived in the area Patsy's would be a regular stop for us!Thank you so much for your kindness!

I never write reviews for places I've never actually been to, but how could I? I'm sorry, but if you're truly struggling for business because of the pandemic, maybe you shouldn't close 2hrs before your posted store hours with zero notice. I drove from the South Hills, just to get there, with my turn signal on, turning into the lot, to see him at the door, turning the sign to "closed". Businesses that do this ALL fail for a reason. Bummer, but it is what it is. Just know if you go well out of your way to go there, it may be closed, so maybe don't even bother.

Probably the best hot sausage in the city- if not the country- seriously that good. The owners, a husband and wife team, can be eccentric. I once asked for mayo on my Italian hoagie and got a lecture on why it doesn't need it and I couldn't have it...this was after a lecture on why their steaks are better than the local grocery store's. If you can handle a little preaching, then their food is great and worth it.SPOILER ALERTThey never did give me that mayo- but I take them home and add it without their knowledge!

Patsy's is a great little neighborhood Italian deli, about 3 blocks up Center Ave. Everything is handmade, from the meatballs and sausage, to the lasagna. Great food at a modest price, and worth the drive. The subs are the best in the Burgh, if not he state! I always have a hard time deciding between the meatball or the Italian Deluxe. Each one is made fresh, so if you are in hurry, call in the your order.

Not a bad little market, I just stopped in for a drink but they seem to have a nice sandwich menu. The place seems clean and the staff are friendly. I recommend a visit if you happen to be in the area.

Patsy's is a great little gem of a market/deli tucked on a side street in Verona, PA. They do a bunch of meats in house and homemade wedding soup. The hot sausage and meatball hoagies are excellent and everything is reasonably priced. To top it all off, the owners are so friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this spot and am proud to support this small local business.

This place is an old school Italian deli that treats their customers with respect. The prices are unbelievably good and usually cheaper than Giant Eagle. The sandwiches they make in particular the homemade meatball is some of the best I have ever had. Reminds me of the meatballs my Italian grandma would make on Sundays. They also have a wide variety of homemade sausages that taste great and are not full of filler fat. When you bite in all you see is meat and not those little white balls of fat you get from Giant EagleI highly recommend this place if your looking for a small family run deli with fair prices and exceptional service.

I grew up in Verona and used to buy their hot sausage sandwiches back in the 50's when I was a kid. Best I ever tasted to this day. I'm very happy to see they're still open for business.

The first time I went into Patsy's, I was intrigued by its small town, old school feel. It's run and operated by a husband and wife. There are signs up about supporting local businesses and explaining the value you get at a hometown butcher shop versus a corporate grocery store - these seemed cute at first but really seem to be a drag once you have been in the store for more than a few times. The biggest draw to this place if the MTO sandwiches. He's similar to the soup nazi from Seinfeld in that substitutions and alterations are usually frowned upon, but usually he will reluctantly give you what you want - the only exception being that he won't put mayo on your Italian sub (there is another cute sign commemorating this as well). The service is always slow because there is only ever 1 or 2 people making sandwiches. The selection is amazing and my personal favorite is the home made meatball sub, but nothing he makes is bad.Other than the made to order sandwiches, he offers deli meats and cheeses as well as freshly butchered ground beef, steaks, and several types of sausages - all of these are excellent. He also sells home made soups, pizza kits, and other interesting little deli niceties. Other then that, Turner's beverages and (literally) marked up dollar store condiments are about the only other thing in the store. You have to be careful when checking out as the owner can be very opinionated. My dad accidentally mentioned Tyson chicken once and he went on a 20 minute rant. Also, there is a minimum for credit card sales so bring cash. But don't bring too much cash, because they also give you flack for giving them bills larger than $10.Also, they randomly close on certain days during the summer, so it's helpful to call ahead if you are going out of your way to stop by. Oh, and sometimes the famous meatballs are actually giant chunks of tomato - I'm assuming an honest mistake.
