Truly a hidden gem! Best margaritas around! It is an old movie theater turned into a bar, it is a cool atmosphere with movie nostalgia all around. The outside is super cute and usually there is a fire going, if the weather is right. They have trivia, comedy and live music depending on the night, as well as a small movie theater! They serve food, which is good and at a decent price.

What a charming local theater with cool events. Had an amazing time checking out their monthly "Film Kitchen" night that included delectable food made by an incredible one-chef kitchen (Mustapha/Safari Eats), and featuring local films from underground film-makers. Tonight's theme was "Halloween Hootenanny" and it did not disappoint. After several days of visiting Pittsburgh for the first time from Cali, this experience easily became the highlight of our trip. Grateful for the theater, sponsors, and local artists for making this type of event available to the public and for making non-locals feel welcome

This is a pretty neat idea. My stepdad is from McKeesrocks and we lived there when I was a kid for a couple of years. So to me it's super cool to see the movie theatre of my youth still up and running. I love that there's a little bar connected to it as well as a brewery. The night we visited was Comedy Night and we got to check out some pretty good local talent.Really cool concept they've got going on here.

I saw that this place was having an open mic night and my husband and I have been looking for some good local comedy in the area. We stopped in right before it started and we had a great time! The comedians were hit or miss with their comedy, but that's to be expected at an open mic.The Parkway Theater seems to have something going on just about every night of the week. They're open to watch Steelers games on a big screen, Taco Tuesday, Trivia Wednesday, open mic Thursday, and Friday/Saturday they usually have some event going on (comedy, live music, etc).As far as the actual venue, the Parkway Theater used to just be a theater. The owners decided to renovate in order to incorporate other interests and earn more revenue. There's still a soundproof theater in the back with 45 comfy seats and a big screen. My husband and I spoke to the owner for a while and he's extremely passionate about films. He hand picks independent films to show at the theater and makes sure to watch them all the way through before putting them on his screen. I'm excited to come back and check out a film.I gave it 4/5 stars because the place is a little confusing. There's a full bar on the right (with free popcorn), and Abjuration Brewing is on the left. They have some limited food items each night, but I didn't even realize it was there until I smelled something yummy cooking. Then the theater door is kind of hidden off to the left of the bar.All in all, this place has a lot going on and I will definitely come back to check out another one of the many events/films. You should too!

I've been here before, but it was a few years ago, and this week I visited again, for an entertainment industry mixer, and WOW, this place has been completely remodeled, and is very, very, nice inside. There is a bar, stage, and theater on the right side, and a micro-brewery, Abjuration Brewing, on the left. Very classy, and comfortable inside, and they support the local arts and entertainment industry by providing space for events, AND, they show movies too, and I think live music also, since there was a drum kit set up. The night I was there, they also had some local comedians performing in the theater ... very cool ... Cheers!

The Parkway Theater is yet another unique component of Pittsburgh's cultural places I discovered recently while attending a featured event here. The theater is packed with hints of it's nostalgic past as it continues to focus on it's future self. The Community Reel Arts Center is overseeing the restoration of this single screen theater which will, hopefully, in turn help to develop the surrounding community.Regular movie screenings, special events, comedy shows, and theater rental proceeds, help contribute to the necessary funding. Bigger plans include the installation of the areas first brewpub inside a movie theater. Abjuration Brewing Company is spearheading the installation of this brewpub and will require major configurations of the theater to make it possible.I am looking forward to attending future gatherings and events here and encourage others to visit, appreciate, and support this Pittsburgh treasure as well.

Cool place that was converted from a movie theatre to a bar/brewery. Place let's you bring in food. Outside tables that are great to sit out on beautiful Pittsburgh nights.

Great place! They have live bands(jazz), a movie theater, a brewery, delicious popcorn, a giant screen for penguin games. I've been here a handful of times and it has always been great. The service is great and everyone is friendly. Awesome place to visit is Mckees Rocks. A flautist AND the penguins, a brewery and a potential cult film classic, Zeroville. Love it.

We came for the open mic night and had a great time. The owners are awesome, definitely a place I would like to become a regular at.They have a 42 seat theater in the back completely sound proofed from the rest of the bar. The atmosphere is awesome and even though it's only been open for a little bit, they have a ton of potential!Coming back tomorrow for the comedy open mic :) Highly recommend
