We stopped in and got an arepa while strolling around Squirrel Hill. Service was quick and friendly and our arepa was very tasty! Small interior but nice and clean.

If you're looking for arepas in Sq Hill area? This is the place to go! A ginormous arepas enough to fill your hungry stomach. And if you have space, pick up the 3 different type of empanadas too. Each item is made to order and if you're lucky, you might hear the chef and staff singing away while they make their food for you.

Wonderful time grabbing dinner to go from Papelón!This little takeout restaurant is conveniently located right on Murray next to the giant eagle. Inside there are a few tables you can stand at but no chairs. The space is small but it functions well for a take out restaurant. They have a variety of food available including vegetarian options. I got the empanadas and the borracha arepa. For the empanadas I had to wait a couple minutes for them to be cooked. The wait was definitely worth it for the hot, delicious empanadas. The arepa was also tasty. I was given two sauces to enjoy as well and my favorite was the cilantro one. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They let me know while I was ordering that it would take time to make the empanadas which was very considerate. Overall a great spot for takeout food!

Tiny arepa shop. Seats only 4 people in shop. Lots of take-out. The paebellion beef was our favorite arepa. Green cilantro sauce is better than ranch. The tequenos or cheese sticks was pillsbury crescent baked wrapped cheese, better for the ninos. Good sandwich shop.

Came on opening day, but I hesitated to review since I tend to avoid giving lackluster ratings for small businesses. But honestly, I wouldn't really recommend it to my friends. Food: Got the borracha. The portion size is definitely underwhelming as it's about the size of a fist. The cheese wasn't melted and the arepa itself was lukewarm at best. The meat was seasoned, but on the dryer side. They do give a tiny guacamole salsa (Herdez I think?). Overall, it wasn't particularly flavorful and for $11.73 total, on the pricy size for the portion and quality. *No seating inside, but they do have some small upright tables if you want to eat in*They take Apple Pay*Not taking stars off for this, but the grand opening event ($5 arepas on 5/3 from 11-3) that they advertised on a banner disappeared on the day of and they weren't open by 11:30. Returned at 2:30 and checked out mainly cause I was curious if they'd honor what was advertised (it wasn't, but I was fine with the normal pricing).

Delicious arepas filled to the brim with tender chicken or beef, plantains, cheese or veggies, depending on your dietary requirements. When they opened I probably came here at least once a week for about a month before I made myself stop. The people working here are wonderful and helpful. Their papelon drink is a very interesting but tasty option; lemonade but with a particularly rich syrup that balances out the tartness beautifully. Passion fruit drink is also delicious! The space is a nice little walk up counter with some tables out front, definitely a place for grabbing and going! I suppose it's inspired by the arepa counters found in South America.

Very friendly and nice neighborhood place for quick eats. We tried the borracha which was pretty light and homey. It comes with two different creamy sauces which goes well with the arepa. We also had some Mexican cola and Maltin which went well with our meal. The tequenos were alright, they're much smaller and stubbier than I thought and there wasn't an amazing cheese pull ahha. I would def come back to try the empanadas and more arepas!

I have ordered take out from this restaurant several times and love their chicken bowls! They are delicious with rice, shredded chicken, black beans and my favorite: plantains! It's a very generous portion size and I usually can get two meals out of one order. The service has always been quick and though I cannot speak to the ambiance as I've only ordered takeout I can only assume positive things.

We recently moved to Pittsburgh and were excited to see this little arepa shop pop up on our radar. I thought the arepa masa was the right thickness and crispness (this matters to me, I really dislike thick arepas). The choice of two cheeses (Gouda and queso fresco) was nice to have and the tequeños were so soft and flavorful. I loved that they have vegetarian options. We ate standing up at these bar tables. There wasn't a lot of room but we didn't mind at all. The owner was very kind and it was great to support a Latino owned business. If you are in the area, definitely check them out!
