I lived in Pittsburgh for so many years and have come back to visit so many times. I don't know how I've only been here twice. This is an absolute staple and a must when you're in the area.My husband and I split the chorizo hash and the strawberry hotcakes. Both of these were delicious, but the hotcakes took the cake. I'm someone who usually looks to get some sort of protein in their breakfast, but when you're here it's definitely warranted to make an exception to the rule. Get the hotcakes!!We were silly and tried getting a table at prime time on a Saturday morning. The wait wasn't as bad as I would've thought though. The atmosphere is like a cool and modern diner without being gimmicky. My husband asked if we could come back the next day. Love this place so much, can't wait to be back.

This is a neighbourhood grub hub, that was recommended by so many people when we asked around, so we thought we'd try it out.The diner itself is super cute with pink and blue seats, pictures all over their walls, and I don't know if it's celebrities or patrons, but I thought it was a nice touch. The place is really clean, and warm. Our waitress was very pleasant, and we were very fortunate to have her help us with the menu, and answer other questions about the strip. The stars given on today's review was for both the service and the atmosphere of this place. The food is something I wasn't very impressed with. I ordered the meat and eggs, where you have a choice of toast, and meats to accompany your eggs and hash. Which I would have expected to be quite standard. However, I asked for crispy potatoes and really well don't bacon, of which I enjoyed the bacon, but the potatoes really taste more like potato salad then a hash, so if your into that it's the dish for you. It was crispy on the outside and quite salad-y on the inside, and I really dislike potato salad, but it seems to be something the locals really enjoy. Toast was under toasted. I also ordered the famous pancakes, and once I bit into it, I found them to be more of a flat, chewie pancake, and not flavourful at all. I was at least expecting some vanilla, but I got noffin. I smothered it with syrup and butter, but it just didn't do it for me. My dining partner really didn't have much to say about the sandwich either. I honestly don't see what the hype was about this place, but so many people were buzzing about it, so we had to try it, the food was mediocre at best. But the atmosphere and staff are both very nice, and made this experience a little more enjoyable.

Food: 4/5Service: 5/5Ambiance: 4/5We went with friends for a weekday brunch, and it was still packed with people, which goes to show how popular this spot is. It has the feel of your classic cozy diner. We were told this is a famous local spot in Pittsburgh - President Obama was here and raved about the pancakes (link: https://www.pittsburghmagazine.com/how-a-president-turned-pittsburgh-into-a-city-of-pancakes/)! I ordered the Morning After Breakfast Special, which was solid. Upgrading your hotcakes to specialty hotcakes is a steal at $2 - do it! The pancakes were the immediate standout - thin with deliciously crispy edges. My husband ordered the corned beef and Swiss omelet, which I didn't care for because it was incredibly cheesy (more cheese than egg), but he seemed to love it.

glad I pre-read the advice to arrive prior to 10am- small inside, located between two churches & parks, we arrived at 9am, were seated, and when all the nearby activities concluded around 10am the place had a line out the door...flad we pre-read the advice to arrive prior to 10am- a small quaint restaurant, with big delicious flavors, we arrived around 9am, seated, ordered, & ate, by 10am when all nearby activities concluded the place had a line out the door-service was great; friendly, quick, attentive-we opted to split the tex-mex omelette & morning after special (sausage & plain pancakes)I agree with the adjective 'famous' for the crepe pancakes- a delicious blend fluffy-thin dense chewy bites- with the buttery rich doughy- not too overly sweeteggs & sausage were hearty- cooked perfectly- well-seasonedthe tex mex omelette was PACKED with ingredients- the home fries potatoes had a delectable char & buttery scrumptious onionsboth platters were hearty-bang for your buck! our waitress was on point with coffee refills- absolute recommend- we didn't have to wait, but if you do get stuck in the morning rish line, know it is there for a reason & it is worth the wait (& ooh reasonable prices)

I always go to the location in oakland, but this location was good too. somewhat difficult parking, the one in oakland is a more walkable area which i prefer. food and ambiance are always great.

Service is wonderful. The waiters are incredibly attentive and quick. Diner environment so great for a work meeting or laid back breakfast or brunch. I was in Pittsburgh for work and ate here twice. The first day was fantastic, had the special that comes with eggs, meat, and their version of pancakes. Highly recommend!!! The second day I had an omelette that was terrible. The bacon inside was fatty and the veggies were not chopped small. Hard to enjoy barely cooked chunks of green pepper and huge slices of mushroom. The toast was also too well done and the potatoes needed to be crispier. So I'd definitely go back for my first order (in pics) and the reason for 4 stars but not the omelette plate.

Couldn't have asked for much more during my visit to Pamela's last week - it was a busy Sunday brunch time with a crowd huddled around the front entrance but we were seated in about 10 minutes. It was very crowded and a bit hectic, we were towards the entrance so there was a lot of hustle and bustle and noise but that is to be expected considering the time we went, yet the waitress was attentive and made great suggestions, and the food came relatively quick. The western omelette, potatoes, and hotcakes were everything we could've asked for. The portions are large, hearty, and straight up comforting breakfast food - you won't leave hungry!!

We had a weekday morning breakfast closer to noon. We did not have to wait.I had the Blueberry Hotcakes which were excellent. The pancakes are thin with a crisp to the edges. I liked the whole thing was not overly sweet, but that could be because the blueberries were on the tart side. For me the portion size was good.Cute diner atmosphere. Service was friendly. Our food came out quickly.Prices were standard for this type of food.

It took 20 minutes to get seated and people came in after us and got a table right away. Then the waitress complained about her tip. "You're not worth my time". Even though I am a loyal customer and always tip. A server should not complain. Customers should have respect and not me yelled at in the middle of the restaurant for not tipping. But, the tip was going to be left in cash on the table. (she didn't get the tip after her rude behavior)
