As good as it gets, for diner-style breakfast fare. Wait times can be lengthy as this is such a popular spot and right on the fringes of the University of Pittsburgh campus, but do not let that dissuade you from giving it a go!The wait staff was attentive, and the coffee pots flowed continuously throughout our visit. My wife and I each ordered a breakfast platter, and we shared them both.Wife's traditional breakfast consisted of the usual suspects of eggs, potatoes, bacon and some very unusually thin pancakes (which turned out to be the star of the show!). I ordered a plate of corned beef hash which came with over easy eggs and buttered toast. They practically had to roll us out of there after the meal, but man was it worth it!

tldr solid and busy brunch spot with multiple locations across pittsburgh for those visiting with famous crispy edge crepe style pancakes and potatoes that are a must get! get on the waitlist asap and get a text when ur table is ready with a complete party or no seating ordered a western omelette with cheddar cheese, hotcakes with famous potatoes, hot chocolate and tea western omelet (3.5/5) standard fare with a good mix of veggies tho the ham was not distributed evenly and chopped very uneven, potatoes were nice with crispy edge + tasty seasoning, felt like the toast was too large/tomatoes felt a bit out of place as a omelet side so would love if there were other food group options like fruit or side of hotcakes for a bit more money. also don't understand why cheese is extra $1 for this specific omelet since it's already not vegetarian friendly hotcakes (4.5/5) these were da bomb - crispy edges that you want from a typical pancake with a thinner fluffy cake - tho i did wish the cake itself was even more crispy....i am assuming they use a lot of butter to achieve so don't come if ur on a diet hot chocolate (3.75/5) filled with whipped cream to the top, hot chocolate was standard fare but wish it came in a smaller cup hot tea (2/5) unlimited but unfortunately wasn't too good learn from me - that's not why we come so get the coffee! service was friendly and attentive + interior made me feel like I was back in the 90s with board games and retro tables which i loved! food 4/5service 4/5ambiance 5/5value 5/5

Food is always amazing. Been going here for ever. It's been a lifelong thing. Service is always great. Ambience is OK. It's really fun and sad to look at. I always get the bacon and cheese omelette with home fries and white or Ryebread total knock out.

Cute diner ambiance, great hot coffee and tasty food! My wife and I were both floored by the perfectly cooked scrambled eggs. I don't think I've ever had scrambled eggs that good at a diner before. Very friendly service!

Tried again with their special blueberry hot cake, croissant French toast and gail's egg. Their special hot cake with thin, crunchy crest and tangy flavor is the best forever! Also strongly recommend the luscious croissant French toast topped with nuts. One more tip: if you hate to wait in line, come before 9am.

Returned to pittsburgh after 9 years and first thing i did was go to Pamelas. Food is still amazing but the service and ambiance is second to none. It can be crowded so pick your time wisely but well worth the wait

Lots of people talk about this place so had to stop by for breakfast while we were in town visiting University of Pitt. Service was good, portion sizes huge, and good prices. The food itself was just ok and typical for a diner. The French Toast I had was a bit bland. Coffee and bacon was fine though. Not sure why all the hype though.

Well known for the gigantic plates of eggs, pancakes, and especially corned beef hash. To avoid the congestion and lines, I would snag a table outside as in 8 am: or right after I get out of church. Two tall black cooks brought me out my plate as soon as the food was perfectly cooked. And very hot.Nothing to add. Pamela's is a truly great diner. Grab the chance to eat their delicious meals wherever you can find them locally!
