Came to Johnstown to hike and explore on a July Sunday. My friend and I first hiked at Lorain/Stonycreek. Afterwards, we were famished and my friend had the task of finding us a great lunch spot. Wahlah! Osaka, it was!We were promptly greeted and seated in a booth. They had an all-you-can-eat option. We looked at the menu and decided we would opt out of that and just order from the menu, saving a few bucks for the amount of food we wanted. We ended up ordering a roll and a combo platter of sashimi and a roll. We also got miso soup and seaweed salad with soft drinks.Service was fast, our server was very nice and efficient, the food was all good and presentation eye catching.The only critique would be our diet pepsis. They tasted "off", "heavy", maybe carbonation not quite right. Other than that, a great dining option!

First and foremost - this place is a true hidden gem! The dining room is nicely renovated and cozy. Staff is swift and polite. The menu has everything from classic Chinese fare like General Tso, to pad Thai noodles, to hibachi, to sushi platters. Let's get into the details: my husband and I decided to try this place out on a Sunday night. We were practically the only ones in the restaurant. We arrived about 7:15 and we had our full meal in front of us and already half way down with our meal by 7:45. They were extremely fast. I ordered the spicy maki sushi platter and my husband got the general Tsos chicken. The sushi was phenomenal and gorgeously plated. The general tsos chicken was honestly some of the best chicken I've ever had. Their prices are extremely reasonable. We got my sushi meal (that included soup and salad), a order or general tsos chicken, plus a king crab roll, and a spicy crab roll for just $42. Not bad at all! Seriously guys... do not sleep on this gem! I'll absolutely be back!

Food was very fresh and flavorful. Really enjoyed this "taste of Japan". This place can be missed if driving by, but do not think it's not worth it. Very good food, good pricing. Small place, big flavor. Highly recommend.

We'll it has been a year since I first posted a review on Osaka and thought to give an update. We there again with wife in tow and decided on the BBQ Squid as an Appetizer. Always a good pick for us. For the dinner we noticed there were Poke Bowls available, SOLD. We needn't look any further. We had recently taken a 2 week trip to Hawaii and I got hooked on them. The price was what I thought as very reasonable but when comparing price to what we paid in Waikiki, anything would seem reasonable. After the first bite I was glad at my choice. It was fresh, not fishy, had salmon, tuna, shrimp, white tuna, yellowfin and crab. (Although it was imitation crab). Sushi rice, mango, seaweed and a few other items that I don't remember. (Sucks getting old.) There was a lot of it! Thought I'd never hit the bottom of the bowl. Very filling and very tasty. Poke Sauce served with it was very good as well. We've been here numerous times and haven't been disappointed with the quality of the food. When they get busy, the sushi chef gets a real work out, be patient and relax. His attention to detail will make it worth the wait. I told my waitress that we had Poke Bowls in Hawaii and I thought that these were of better quality and almost double the portion at a more reasonable price. I hope I didn't give them any ideas to raise the price. Now I must say my wife liked her bowl but she wished she would have ordered a different entree. I think it may have been the seaweed. She really doesn't care for it.

Food was beautifully plated and tasty. Our waitress must have been fairly new as when we asked about the dishes prior placing our order, she couldn't tell us what it was or if they had a dish similar to Mahi-mahi. However, she was a great server and served us well. A tip well earned. Please remember to always tip your servers WE are their paychecks We will be back for more!

I recently moved from the DMV, I lived in each state DC, Md, and Virginia. Johnstown is a small city and I was craving sushi. I stopped in Osaka and had the most delicious Sushi ever for a fair price. My first year here, we had a Christmas luncheon at Nikko's, and I loved Osaka's even better than Nikko's! Thanks to the chefs ! I will be back!!!

The two rolls and pork gyoza I had were delicious! I didn't get a picture of the pot stickers because I started eating them right away. Service was very good too. The plates were pretty and the decor was very pleasing. I will return if I stay in the area again and recommend this place for sushi!

I love the sushi at this restaurant! However, very disappointed in the fact that the Restaurant refused to correct their mistake by refunding an incorrect charge. Another customers dinner was charged on credit card. They just said sorry, it's been 24 hours and the tab has been closed. So, some family literally got a free dinner.
