The only reason I'm giving this hole-in-the-wall a single star is because Yelp won't allow none at all. After a wrestling match at a nearby high school, most of my Johnstown family and I were looking for a little food and a place to celebrate my nephew's wins. The food was what you might expect, fried, deep fried, or batter fried. The pizza had a soggy and nearly uncooked crust. But on the upside, my salad was only slightly wilted. However, taking our experience to the lowest level of dining hell was the horrific service. Admittedly we were a large group, but that's no reason for the surly attitude we received from our server. Not only was she slow to respond to our requests, she actually chastised me for having the temerity to order a drink from the adjacent bar. How was I to know she was (unsuccessfully) trying to manage both the dining room and the bar? Not that I'm headed back to Carrolltown any time soon, but if I ever do, I'll eat from a gas station vending machine before going back to this dive. Better yet, I'll scrape up some road-kill and have me a B-B-Q.

I'm updating my review from 2012 because...well I've been going here for years, and this place definitely deserves at least 4 stars. They continue to have great seasonal draft selections, and the food is always good and plentiful. Plus, the owners are above and beyond kind and accommodating. I came in late one night recently after working a 12-hr shift, and they made an awesome pizza for me even though it was after midnight.

A simple country restaurant that serves your typical bar fare. Pizza was very good. Other things like wings, fries, etc. also on the menu. Stop by, you won't regret it.

I want so bad this place to return to what it once was but still hasn't happened. Had a fish platter at $9.75 which was a tiny piece of frozen breaded fish, some deep-fried shrimp & scallops. I thought the waitress said the meal included coleslaw n a roll. Said she forgot to bring to the table. Brought slaw and a freezer-burnt stale roll. Then had the brass to charge me 75cents for them saying they weren't included in the meal. Huh?? On the plus side, service was great, rest of the food was fair (pile of fresh-cut fries), great beers.Saw a pizza come out of the kitchen when leaving, looked excellent!

Service is soooooooooo slow. Only one waitress and she's the bartender too!!! Typical food for a small town. Don't waste your time or money.

Pizza and fries are worth the drive. Buffalo chicken fries are the best. Quality food at very reasonable prices.

The food is amazing with extremely cheap prices. Thankful to have them every Tuesday night in this small area alot of places are closed Tuesday! Highly recommend the meat lover stromoli!! With the high price of hamburger they still serve fresh meat burgers literally for a couple dollars. All around highly recommend!

The food was surprisingly decent for a small town bar. However the customer service was lacking. I'm a young adult and remember going to this business with my grandparents under the Owens ownership. I was displeased with the attitude and lack of PLCB knowledge on the new owners part... Considering they have it plastered all over their walls. Most of the patrons are 35+ so it is NOT early 20's friendly which is very disheartening because it has decent potential. They could achieve more youth business if they opened their minds. However the food was seasoned well and it's fairly cheap mostly because its bar oriented. Decor was lacking but most places in Carrolltown are run down. Great spot for older generations.
