Stayed at the Oakmont Country Club for a wedding, and it was a wonderful experience. The bridal party stayed in the cottages located at the 18th hole, which are huge, comfortably furnished, and luxurious. The staff was helpful, friendly, and attentive. The food was excellent. The golf course made a nice backdrop for the ceremony and wedding photos. Overall, a lovely experience.

Generally nice looking venue but it seems like the wait-staff management only got a minor in hospitality and management and feel like taking a party favor right out of wedding guests hands without any warning is an appropriate thing to do. Apparently it's against PA's liquor laws for an establishment who sells alcohol to allow guests to open bottles purchased outside its venue. The bride and groom had alcoholic party favors that were placed on the tables beforehand, but none of the wait staff thought to inform the guests about this stipulation, and when I asked the manager she said that it's "not their responsibility to let us know." Despite it being their liquor license on the line. No warning, no "hey we're sorry but you can't drink that in here, please put it in your car or we'll have to take it." Just all of a sudden someone's hand was reaching over my shoulder and taking wedding favors from the bride and groom straight off our table.Oh and of course neither her nor her sass-talking lackey had name tags on. Probably because they engage in this kind of inappropriate show of force pretty often.

Delightful setting. I was fortunate enough to score a volunteer appointment for the 2016 US Open, and I must say, it was an impressive affair. The amount of work that went into preparing this legendary private golf club must have been Herculean, judging from all of the bleachers, pathways, and infrastructure erected for the event!I've been lucky to have dinner at the Clubhouse on several occasions, and I will say that the food was far better than I have been accustomed to at large, fabled private golf clubs - usually, the more famous the club, the less tasty the food, but not here! Our evening was wonderful - beginning with a warm greeting by the folks in the lobby, continuing on with friendly staff during cocktails, dinner, and dessert, and ending with a friendly goodbye by the staff.I'm already looking forward to next year's annual dinner...

I have to be one of the luckiest people on earth to go and be able to play this golf course. The #7 best ranked golf course in the world from Golf Digest did not disappoint. You are offered exceptional service from the moment you park till you leave. Etiquette is one of the number one rules at Oakmont, so if you have any doubts about the rules make sure to ask. You can't even pull out your phone in the clubhouse. You will be required to walk, unless a disability allows for it. Not the hardest walk, but can be a struggle at times.Obviously, the course is in perfect condition, and has the best greens you will most likely ever putt on, unless you've managed to play Augusta. They also have some of the craziest elevation changes among slopes covering the greens. Missing on one side of the green causes you to roll into deep rough or a 10 foot deep bunker.Fairways can become fairly difficult to hit at times, especially when the fairways are running and the wind is blowing. Tee shots that land in the middle of the fairways can end up in deep fairway bunkers. The dining situation is also fantastic, although I would recommend if you were to choose a time to eat, it would be dinner.Overall, the best golf course experience I have ever played, and will be for you as well.P.S. Recommend Jordan as your caddy! Best caddy on property!

I had a great time at the Cobb wedding/ reception. Excellent facility with breath taking views of the golf course and an amazing history in golf. Probably a once in a life time opportunity to see this facility outside of the 2007 U.S. Open. Staff was courteous and friendly, food and beverage was excellent. I look forward to my next visit there. Thank you!
