I don't want to review this place because other's may book it LOL what a throw back to the good old days! Spent a solo weekend in this majestic reclaimed and rebuilt1700/1800s log cabin. You can smell the history! From the immense front porch with rockers and a swing to the claw tub to the mini farm with sheep and chickens one was surrounded with silence and thought - if these walls could talk!- Every nook and cranny filled with early 20th century furnishings and books! There is a fireplace for cool nights and one very small hidden tv which was turned on once in 3 days and that was to watch Little House on the Prairie! Breakfast each day? Delectable!

This is our third stay at Oak Noggin. Located just outside of Pittsburgh it is a beautiful, well maintained log cabin with so many thoughtful touches. Snacks, juice, milk and candies to shampoo and soap. The grounds are well kept and comfortable. Betty is an amazing cook and fun to talk with. We always stay in B&B this is at the top of our list.

Stayed for 3 nights in October and had a terrific experience. The grounds are beautiful, quiet and surrounded by nature (gardens, cute farm animals), we enjoyed our coffee on the deck and the ambiance. The historic cabin is fascinating, tastefully decorated and comfortable. Betty, the innkeeper was friendly, super kind and thoughtful (for example flipping the a/c on for us when we were away so the cabin would be cool), and the breakfast was bountiful and delicious. It was a wonderful getaway out of the city and lowered our blood pressure. : ) Highly recommend and would stay again. The only minor thing to be aware of is that the restaurants within a 5 mile radius were mostly family-oriented casual eateries (sandwiches, french fries), so if you are planning a romantic getaway or something special, I would recommend planning extra time to drive a little further out of the way for better food options.

This lovely little sanctuary could not be any more quaint or accommodating. It looks exactly as it does in all the photos, and makes you feel right at home upon entering. The owners, Betty and Dale, are extremely gracious hosts, and have created a practically euphoric atmosphere that has clearly been a labor or love for them. The beds are super comfortable, the surrounding views stunning, and the breakfast scrumptious!
