New Amsterdam

Our group stopped by New Amsterdam after an event nearby on a Sunday night, and we were blown away in the best way. There was only one bartender working when we arrived, and despite the size of the crowd, she absolutely killed it. We arrived before most of the rush, and instead of offering us a cocktail menu, our bartender asked us our preferred liquors and what kind of flavor we were looking for. I opted for "something sweet with vodka," and wound up with an espresso martini with added chocolate liqueur. It was phenomenal. New Amsterdam also appears to have updated their menu, and our party was very pleased with the selections. Most of us finished our food so quickly that we didn't even take pictures! I went for the cheeseburger egg rolls, which were the perfect late night snack. The house-made burger sauce was a perfectly tangy pairing. Others in the party opted for some of the mac and cheese options, and everyone had overwhelmingly good things to say about the flavor combinations. Our food also came out very quickly, so we were very happy. Looking forward to going back to New Amsterdam when the rooftop opens back up in warmer weather, and excited to see what other delicious cocktails they'll craft!

Wow! This space has been transformed into such a cool place. With new management late last year New Am has become a place to grab some delicious expertly crafted cocktails and amazing comfort food. New Amsterdam has partnered with Cold Friends Kitchen and the food is spectacular. All of the staff there are so friendly. This is definitely a place I'll go more often!

New Am is a great spot for dancing on a night out! The music is loud (except for when the DJ would turn it down any time a girl tried to talk to him lol) & the floor is sticky, but if you don't mind the frat house vibe the dancing is super fun! They serve a good selection of beer, and they have good canned options as well which is easier for dancing. The bartenders are quick and friendly. Cool Art, Good Beer and Chill Atmophere? Yes! That is this place in a nutshell.I like this place alot! It's the kind of place I'd frequent if I lived in Lawrenceville. I've seen it dead and busy over the years and it's mostly cool people.My favorite part of this place is their second floor and rooftop.I'll be back soon to buy some art and drink some brews.

Not to be confused with Nude Amsterdam, which is a place I like very very very much.This is a very hipster place but they make a good effort. I don't like the food and the prices are a little on the high side, especially for Pittsburgh, but I think it has lovely decor, and a wonderful location, if you can find parking right in the heart of Lawrenceville.And don't get me started on the amazing service here. The service is really the main reason why it gets four stars.

We came in around 5pm on a Saturday and the roof top was about half full. You order at the bar. I ordered the wings (black and gold=bbq and honey mustard). The wings were nice and crunchy but the sauce was on the heavy side. My friend liked her fish tacos. The bier cheese is not good but the pretzels were soft. By 7, this place was bumping and at 10pm was jam packed!

A nice spot in Lawrenceville. Parking is a bit problematic but that's more a problem with the area and not so much the restaurant. We've been going here for trivia on Wednesday nights (at 8!). It's generally pretty crowded so can't be too tough on the staff on these busy nights but service a little slow this past Wednesday. They have an excellent draft selection. Food menu is just a notch up from standard bar food. I had the burger which was great though someone I was with had the chicken tenders and felt they were undercooked. Prices are reasonable. Definitely worth a visit.

We came with a large group a couple weeks ago and it was a BLAST! The DJ downstairs was spinning some 80's with a house beat which got everyone up and dancing. The drinks are very reasonably priced and there is a bar open upstairs with the upstairs patio that has heaters on it. Overall, a very fun night and will be back again soon!

New Am is Always a reliable local favorite when looking for a late night drink. A good mix of classic beers and craft options. The rooftop is ideal for Covid friendly meetups and fresh air!

I had a fantastic time at this hipster bar! The eclectic decor and unique drink menu create a cool and trendy vibe. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. It's a good spot for anyone looking for a fun and trendy night out.
