Nap's Cucina Mia

So my girlfriend is from Kenya and my last name is Sasso. Very Italian. I heard amazing reviews and comments about Nap's and I wanted to surprise my girlfriend who is getting her masters in business management at the college there. The college of Indiana of Pennsylvania brings a lot of business to Naps from my understanding. So I was super excited to let her experience Italian food for the first time. This is not what my $52 dollars got me and it was a very bad experience all around. So when my Kenyan girlfriend got this I was so stoked to have her experience authentic Italian food. So ya she she called me and i video chatted with her from Georgia, I was so defeated and I felt so bad that she didn't like any of the food. And the worst part when I called was that the manager apologized but didn't do anything to make it right. I let him know I was going to post and he apologized again. So here it is and the pictures and all!! Do t eat at a place just because of the Italian name and the reviews. This is my recommendation from experience and I definitely won't recommend this place to anyone!!

I love this place. I've been here twice and they are so friendly. The food is fantastic and it has that great feel of a family owned place. If I were the owner, I would take a day and scrub it down. Lots of flies and dust. I'll be back because it's excellent but I did notice it could be cleaner.

It's amazing what 50 years can do. Nap Patti's Bar, where many afternoons were spent drinking cheap beer, becomes Naps Cucina Mia. It was Indiana meets NYC. There were snazzy cocktails, a nice wine selection, great bread, and terrific italian food. Dining with friends who are now from all over the US, NY,SF, Sedona, was easy, and none of us were disappointed. Atmosphere was like Greenwich Village rather than Philadelphia St. It was a very nice unexpected pleasure. Next time I'll wear all black instead of jeans and flannel(nice flannel).

This is the place to go for an upscale dinner. Veal chop was amazing. All their pasta's are fabulous.

We stopped by for lunch and sat in the outdoor dining area. My wife had a pizza and I had a panini. The food was terrific and the seating area was comfortable and charming. Our waitress was great. So glad we stopped in.

We enjoyed a fabulous meal with friends at Nap's. We started with delicious cocktails and salads and moved on to pasta and pizza, before finishing with stupendous deserts! I highly recommend this fine restaurant. We ate on the patio, so we could enjoy the fine pastas of Nap's and the pizzas from Josephine's. All of the food was stupendous. They also have an amazing wine list highlighting excellent Italian wines and fantastic cocktails! I wish I lived closer to Indiana, so I could eat here more often. Overpriced and poor execution!!! $21 for a very small serving of linguine and two 2oz meatballs!?!? This is just insulting. I wholeheartedly think a business should make a profit but there is absolutely no value here. Bread was great. the Italian long bean app was nice. Very oddly undercooked fresh pasta. Most fresh pasta I've had is never al dente so this must be dried first...chewy, gummy and hard... Boxed pasta cooked correctly would have been far superior. Someone needs to reaccess there.

Naps has great food. But for the prices- the portions are small. Pasta is cheap. When you order a pasta dish it would be much better if they served more than what is approximately 2-3 ounces. The quality is very good. Clean, chef run.

The best restaurant I've been to in this area, by far! The ambiance doesn't match how how good the food is, but the food is fantastic and as good as anything I had living in NYC for 20 years. I can't believe I went to IUP and never came here before now!

First time to dine at Nap's and I was more than pleasantly surprised. The food definitely outperformed the dining area but the vibe was energetic and the service was excellent. Everything was prepared fresh, right in front of you, and the meal was delicious. I had the Nona with homemade ziti and Italian sausage, the flavor of the sauce was hearty and well, perfect.I will definitely be back, soon.
