Nancetta's is the best Italian food I've had in Pittsburgh! Everything is made in house from scratch, and the ownership and staff make you feel like part of the family. I had pasta with rabbit. This was a large portion of food. The past was cooked al dente and was perfect, and I couldn't believe how much rabbit meat there was on the plate. I had to take some home. This was my first time eating rabbit. It's tender and has a similar taste to chicken but a little more "gamey." I also got a side of gnocchi and wow! It's so light and melts in your mouth. The best gnocchi I've ever had. This will go down as one of my favorites, and I will go back frequently!

HORRIBLE! this restaurant shouldn't be in business. It's a health risk and a scam. Place smells like a sewer, and the food isn't much better. The waiter pushed multiple high ticket items, which we never ordered but we're served & charged for. The meat stunk. It was brown/rancid, and after talking to several friends It sounds like they all got sick from eating here in the past. No surprise. The owner is a drunk slob. When he came to check on the table he was slurring & instead of listening to any of us he was starring down the shirts of my female guests, then argued with our opinions of the food?? The cherry on top? I later saw the "chef" buying his "homemade" pasta off a clearance end-cap at TJMaxxx. The whole operation is dishonest

Upon pulling up at 6pm on a Friday night, we realized no one else was there. Walking in while everything looked fine, there was an overwhelming smell of sewage or what I thought they had just had their grease trap cleaned out. We opted to sit outside. Our waitress was nice and attentive. Brought our drinks and bread. I ordered the special of clams and pasta with a white sauce, and hubs got the margarita pizza. Our food came out, and I took my 1st bite... Everything in my body was telling me to spit it out. It smelled bad and tasted bad. It tasted about how it smelled in the building. I did spit it out in my napkin and told the waitress I really didn't like it. Another womcame out and asked what was wrong, I told her it tasted bad. She took it and asked if I wanted anything else. I did not. My husband said the pizza was ok. When the waitress came back with the check, I asked what the smell was she said she didn't smell anything. I asked if the grease trap was just emptied, and she said they didn't have one. I don't know what's going on here, but good luck.

Peaceful, quiet, clean. Nanchetta's is not what you expect when it comes to Italian food. There is nothing "restauranty" about this place. It is very much like going to your Italian family's home for dinner or lunch. The food was great, service attentive, and the prices were competitive with other family owned restaurants. Definitely worth another visit.

I can't say enough nice things about this restaurant. The owner and staff were so accommodating. I had another restaurant cancel my reservation at the last minute because they weren't busy enough to justify staying open. So, I had to scramble to find somewhere for me and my 10 year old daughter to go for her special dinner. This place didn't hesitate. when I called and explain my situation they said, come on down, don't worry about anything. So we did and it was a fantastic meal, everything is homemade, highly highly recommended. My steak was amazing and even the noodles in my daughter's spaghetti and meatballs were homemade.

2nd time coming. And I enjoyed this visit a lot more. I ordered the chicken parmigiana with spaghetti. Fantastic! Just wished the portions were alittle bigger. But I was content. My side salad was perfect with olives, cheese and chickpeas. Service was good. Short staffed like everyone else.

When the moon hits your eye, it's amore', we are in love with nancettas! This is the Lamborghini of Italian food. Yes, you will wait for your made from scratch Italian pasta extraordinaire! Everything we had was so wonderful! It was as if they picked the vegetables from my grandpap's garden. What a delight!

I try to be fair and balanced in my reviews. Arranging a holiday dinner for four I thought I would try this place you never hear about. Especially considering that it's in the Fox Chapel area. When you walk in there's a nice little stoned side bar with two stools. Not made or attended to for use as a real bar. On your left is a long list of interesting specials. Those are not available as the waiter had only a few of specials. Very small place with another room undergoing carpeting and painting. In mid December? On the food, chicken liver appetizer was dry, shrimp appetizer was bland. Ravioli dough was hard as a rock. Chicken Fruite was an experimental mix of flavors but disappointing, pasta and sweet sausage wasn't worth taking home. Waiter never asked us if we want dessert and dropped the bill on the table. See ya!

We saw a 4 star rating and were looking forward to our dinner. 5 of the 7 meals were INEDIBLE. It only took one bite to determine it was not safe to eat the food. The bolognese was brown, not red. the chicken piccata smelled like feet and the first and only bites were spit into a napkin. Was there a problem with the refrigeration and the food had spoiled? We did not care for any attempt to remake the meals - The nasty aftertaste lingered for hours. I hope the owner tasted the meals when they returned to the kitchen so he could understand why we left. We are not the type to make a scene so we asked for the bill, gave the waitress a BIG tip and quickly left the restaurant questioning their current 4 star rating. 2 other diners came in but left within 1/2 hour. Nanchettas may have been good in the past but our recent experience couldn't be more negative.

Small friendly place, attentive staff, and most excellent food: bread is terrific, as was the eggplant. We most heartily recommend this place!
