this used to be really good with a buffet. had an eat in meal recently. they might have said we don't use eat in. we ate off of plastic styrofoam plates, crappy chopsticks, and from take away containers. we should have gotten take away. also, they did not provide water except in bottles and no hot tea, only cold tea in bottles. I don't think we will be back, ahem, except for takeaway.

Pure slop! Maybe it's partly because I'm coming from the San Francisco Bay Area, where we have amazing food choices, but I have to say that this was probably the worst "Chinese" food I've ever had. I notice that restaurant ratings around the State College vicinity seem quite inflated, but the ratings for this joint were so, so wrong! We ordered a variety of dishes for take-out, and not a single one was decent.

Found this gem as I was passing through on a long trip. Small spot with friendly staff. I had the kung Bo chicken with egg rolls. I'm not sure what was pleasantly different from some of my local shops, but it was. I recommend.

Great little hole in the wall Chinese place in a little town. Looks like it's probably the first (and only) Chinese place in this town. Looks to be 30+ years old.Service was great. They are doing takeout only and social distancing. You come in, order through a window, then wait outside. Food was great! Chicken and broccoli hit the spot. Crunchy but well cooked broccoli with tender chicken and a great sauce with something in it I'm not used to from around my parts...but added nicely. If you are driving through the area and want some Chinese, you can't go wrong here.

Good grub, consistently quality but what a fiasco picking up this Saturday evening. Best order 1/2 hour before you go. Then wait 15 minutes to get checked out. The downtown was packed had to park on a side street blocks away. The place isn't set up for efficient takeout. Please get a runner with a mobile credit card reader or something. Lots of young able bodies behind the counter could be running orders curb side and keep the lines moving, during peak hours.

Mr. Lu's is on main street Bellefonte. It offers an all-day Chinese buffet (with some decidedly non-Chinese offerings) and a somewhat dim dining room. The restaurant boasts 30 years experience in the business, but you wouldn't know it by their buffet: The white rice was crunchy when I got it, must have been sitting there for awhile. The peanut chicken was average and pretty peanutty. On the plus side, they had fried biscuits (which I was later told, are common). The lo mein was fine, they had a decent hot and sour soup, and lots of condiments. The fried food wasn't bad, and you can't go wrong with MSG'ed beef pepper. Their non-buffet menu is full-fledged, with lo mein, egg foo young, mei fun, chop suey, soups, rice, pork, chicken, seafood, and beef entrees. On my way out, I bought a t-shirt for the novelty of it (they offer three colors; it has a small ad for their business). The cashier looked surprised when I told him I wanted one.If you're near Bellefonte and want run-of-the-mill Chinese, go for it.

My family and I have been going here for years. I pretty much order the same thing over and over. I did today as well. We have never paid more than $64 give or take a dollar or two. Today the same order came to $95!!! Actually it was a little less food! The quality has always been good that is why I drive from SC to get it. No More !!! The food was awful tonight! It tasted old and the containers were not even close to being full! Egg rolls must have sat in grease for a couple of days. The wonton soup tasted like soapy dishwater! It was just gross! The peanut chicken was the worst ever! This is normally my favorite and the peanut sauce was just brown water not the thick creamy sauce I am used to! It is a sad way to end 2023 with such disgusting Chinese food! You can't get any good Chinese in the center county area ! Save your money don't go here in the New Year !!!

Food is really delicious! Worth the drive into Bellefonte. Their buffet isn't open yet, but the takeout is still top tier. Excited to try more.

I LOVE coming here. I try to come at least every other week or once a month. Everyone is so nice and they're fast! The food is some of the best Chinese I ever had. Plus the portions are huge! I usually get 2 meals out of it. Highly recommend.

Well Covid hit and ran with restaurant restrictions. The wok chose to keep there buffet closed permanently after restrictions were lifted. The restaurant looks like a storage unit. Prices have gone up I understand that but the Quality of food has declined bein. Multiple cooks can't produce or keep up like Mr Lu used to at the original location, across from the Governors pub. He worked so hard for it to come to this, all that sweat and tears for this.
