This parklet can be a little sketchy and it's always filled with garbage such as cigarettes, fast food packaging, paper bags holding empty beer cans, empty liquor bottles, etc.It is kind of sad that it's not able to be maintained properly. I feel like as soon as it's cleaned up it's right back the mess it was.Has a central location that is ideal...now if only folks could treat it with some respect.

I agree with previous reviews that this park is small and not well kept up. On the other hand, being close to Shadyside hospital it can serve as a repose for those visiting or accompanying family there. It has the potential for being more than it is if we'll kept. The many benches and sign welcoming to Bloomfield, cry for better care.

Our apartment building has wonderful amenities like an indoor pool, outdoor oasis with fire, grills and lounge areas, and large party room available to residents to rent. The staff (especially Monica & Rich) are outstanding and very responsive to any needs. It's a terrific place to live, walkable to Shadyside, Bloomfield & East Liberty.

This "park" would normally only earn 1 star from me but for one thing: it has an insane number of benches. You're not going to believe how many benches this place has. It has like 16 benches and the park is only about a third of a block large. It makes me feel the way I used to feel about crop circles as a kid. Why are there so many benches here? Who put them here? What purpose do they serve and what does it all mean? It's too bad the ample seating isn't in service of anything. There's nothing to enjoy. You've got Baum's crazy traffic whizzing by on one side, a beautiful view of the Courtyard Marriott hotel on the other, and a church that I've never seen anyone go in or out of. The church is actually very nice looking. But not 16 benches nice. I don't get it.So I can't recommend that you go out of your way to visit this park. Actually I can't even recommend you go to the park even if it's on your way. Maybe if you're on a run and need a place to rest. Or maybe if you're a guest of the two hotels that neighbor it and want to enjoy "nature." Or maybe if you get into a car accident on Baum and need some place to wait for the tow truck. Otherwise, eh.
