Moonlight Express Strip

Not many places get this many 5 star reviews without the place deserving it. And let me just say this place deserves it, I have been stopping here for maybe 10 years and am never disappointed. The hard working family run food truck/ stall had a small menu but everything is on point. They have a nice seating area and the food is very good and great value for money. My favorite is the shrimp eggroll, chicken on a stick and the pad thai or stir fried noodles.When you are in the Steip District, stop by and try this place, good dood, value and great family running this joint

Egg Rolls...! Their egg rolls are AMAZING...! I know there's a Moonlight Express up in Bloomfield but when I Google this location. It says Moonlight Express so I added 'Strip' to their name. This place has the VERY BEST egg rolls in PGH. There's at least 6 full size shrimp in each, but I only started counting when I was half way through. I can't believe this place has never been added to Yelp. Come on people, this food truck has the very best egg rolls in PGH..! I can speak on the rest of their menu, most of which I have tried, but I'm focusing on EGG ROLLS now... OMG, I would drive a half hour for these...! YUMMY...!!!

Unfortunately I didn't get to image this amazing food! I was walking through the strip district and just needed a quick snack, so my friend recommended that we go and try Moonlight Express for their chicken on a stick. The chicken was fresh off of the grill and you can either ad sriracha or barbecue sauce on it (I went with sriracha) and it was outstanding! The owners are very nice and the service was super quick! Definitely check them out

This food truck has been serving up the very best chicken on a stick and shrimp eggroll for at least the past 20 years -- and it seems the price is only about 50 cents higher than when we moved here. We talked to one of the owners and he said they opened in 1989. His sister, now 77 has been cooking up the same delicious food since then. He says that people are now bringing their kids and grandkids back, and students that trained in Pittsburgh and are now living overseas make a point of coming back when they are in town. I can certainly believe that as our friends and family visiting from other states invariably end up seeking this place out if we have time to visit the Strip district.

Just spoke with the family and everyone is healthy. They have plans to hopefully return within the next few weeks.

Love those chicken on the stick. I wish I got the egg rolls, but next time! Son got the pad thai noodles and I didn't hear any complaints, so it must have been good.

We haven't seen Bob and his family at the truck in several months. I hope everyone is OK. We miss them and the delicious eggrolls tremenously. Anyone have news about them?
