Mingo Creek Tavern

This place is such a hidden gem! A great "dive bar" feel but it's far from a dive! The inside is super nice and updated! The staff was super nice and gave recommendations on what food to order. The menu is extensive but not fancy (which I liked!) We will certainly be back again! Loved my experience!

Stopped here for the first time due to seeing all good reviews and it did not disappoint! The restaurant/bar is newly remodeled and gives a country rustic feel. Very family friendly with lots going on. We arrived at 3pm on a Saturday and the place was hopping. People having a good time playing darts, pool and socializing. It was nice to see a place in the middle of nowhere come to life. I bet it's even better whenever it's not too cold outside to enjoy the beautiful deck area. They also have the garage door style windows and slide outs that open up to the outside. Whenever you enter there's a sign to seat yourself. They have plenty of tables big and small to sit. Plus a huge bar area. Once we were seated the waitress came over promptly to greet us and take our order. The service was outstanding. We had waitresses checking in on us and we weren't even their table. That right there says a lot! The menu had a ton of tasty looking options. The starters were fantastic! Truth be told I'd come back just for that! We started with the hot pepper cheese balls and the fiesta street corn dip. Both were equally delicious. I ordered a few different drinks as well. The strawberry margarita and the berry sangria spritzer. I wasn't expecting them both to be poured out of a can but hey it was still refreshing. I ordered the honey mustard wings with fresh cut fries for my entree and both were really good. The atmosphere is top notch and we'll definitely be back! Great experience all around.

Third time is a charm. As a local, I am unbelievably happy to have a restaurant nearby. This place could serve rocks and I would still want to come here, because it is the only game in town. It is a really fun spot with jukebox music, a good atmosphere, nice waitress, and pretty good food. Needless to say I'm super happy to have it close by and I hope they succeed! The restaurant is beautiful. The updates are all very nice, including custom bar and outside seating. They did keep the pool table, and dart board which is a major plus for those of us who came here when it was divey! I hope to see the food improve with time. Each time we stop in things go a little smoother. For the price point, it would be great to have a side (fries) included with burgers, wraps, etc.

Very nice and clean restaurant, bar in Eighty Four, Pa. Nice sized menu, plenty to choose from. I had the Cheesesteak. Juicy, tender steak, cheese, peppers and onions, on a fresh, toasted hoagie bun. A side of crunchy, yummy Onion Rings. It was all very good. Only one negative....they don't offer any sides with your sandwich. 6.00 for a side of o rings, 4.00 for a side of fries. This is happening everywhere with restaurants. For me, too many places are price gouging customers. No one forced me to go, or to get sides, but 46$ for two sandwiches and sides before a tip is a bit ridiculous. Like I said, everything was very good, but i would like to see this place include a side with your sandwich.

Needs a lot of work. Hoagie was so small for almost12$ no lettuce or tomato on it. Ordered wings well done and they were soggy. Hardly any fries. .

Decided to try the NEW place in the area. Very nice building outside and in. Was drizzling so seating outside was not an option. Could be a great place for a motorcycle stop in the summer. Was very noisy, I mean LOUD doesn't even come close. Architects and Builders can't even pronounce acoustics let alone plan for it anymore. Did I mention it was LOUD? Beautiful quaint bar inside. Food was horrible at best. Such a shame to have such a nice place with lousy food! Food makes or breaks a new establishment in the beginning. You get one chance at first impressions, not happening here. Nobody minds paying for good, quality meals but top dollar for frozen sub par fryer items, I won't be back anytime soon. Soft drinks were flat, no fizz at all and weak. Iced tea was ok.

PATRONS BEWARE!!! First off my server had the personality of a ball point pen. She never asked how my food was and failed to inform me that I would be paying a higher price for food than was advertised on the menu. The "JUMBO COD" sandwich was anything but Jumbo. It wasn't beer battered as advertised, it was merely a few frozen soggy fish sticks jammed on a tiny burger bun. The beer was cold and the cheeseballs were ok. Note, you will be charged 3.8% for using a credit card. I also got to witness a domestic dispute while I was there as some lady was losing her mind. This place is cahka schmutz!!!

Service, Food and Atmosphere were really outstanding. I will be returning and recommend that others try this establishment!! 5 stars.

My husband, daughter and son-in-law had lunch at the Tavern yesterday.It was great.. I love Rubens and I always order one if on menu. Let me tell you it was the best I ever had. Service was great. We will be going back soon. We also loved the country music that was playing. Wonderful afternoon. If your in the neighborhood try it out.

Service was pretty slow, but considering how crowded it was, this is very much ok. What's not ok? $14 for a turkey club sandwich, and fries are extra? Thats a bit disappointing but not nearly as much as my dates fish tacos. Two little tiny previously frozen nuggets on each shell with a pinch of slaw to boot. Chewy overcooked miniscule delights? You bet they were! I really want to like this place because it's local and not a chain, but I really need a reason beyond its "a nice place". For now, the fish tacos at Taco Bell reign supreme. I can't believe I just said that... P.s. the drunk chain smoker next to me on the DINING patio was close to eating his cigarettes. Ask me why.
