Good food and polite service. I have never had anything bad or subpar here. To go orders are always completed in a timely fashion.

I really hate giving bad reviews, especially to a locally owned place that have been in business for so long, but my goodness Minard's keeps going down hill further and further. Proof of that is the fact you no longer have to wait for a table on a Friday night the day before a huge WVU football game. Off to a bad start the bread for the table was stale. The best part of the meal was the dinner salad that game with the dinner. The salad was fresh, but frankly the dish was so small you wonder why they bother.Another decent dish was the Unstuffed hot pepper with melted cheese, (think deconstructed stuffed pepper). I would prefer a regular stuff pepper, but this really wasn't bad and was a huge dish. I ordered the spaghetti and Lasagna combo, and the Lasagna was ice cold. The wife ordered the special, which was a NY Strip and side of spaghetti. The price $15 was really reasonable, if not ridiculously cheap, so we were expecting a very small steak. On the contrary, the steak was huge and looked great. However when the wife cut into it the steak it was not medium rare at ordered but almost blue. We asked for it to be cooked longer and even told them to cook it medium and it sill came out very rare. That would have been OK but the meat was tough as shoe leather. We would had prefer to pay twice as much for a good steak, then the $15.00 for one the wife could not chew. A person that was with us barley touched her Mahi Mahi because she claimed it tasted of freezer burn. Totally disappointing.

Used to come here in my younger days, was passing through, and decided to stop for an old fashioned Italian dinner. How things have changed over the years. The portions for the price seemed lacking, especially for pasta. The bread was amazing, salad was sad, pasta was cooked to perfection, but the sauce tasted like Ragu, not the homemade sauce I remember. It was quite expensive, but mediocre quality.

Tony and I stopped in Clarksburg WV today on our way to Morgantown for another one of my cancer treatment. I had been wanting to check them out and was excited he was with me. Normally anymore, I go alone, so I enjoy when we can dine somewhere new together. We arrived and entered into the lobby area, NO HOSTESS. We literally waited 6 minutes, I was looking up a number to call them when she came into the area. "Unapologetically she says, "Can I help you?" I said "Yeah we want to eat"...I should have turned around right then and left. We were seated and then a few minutes later Melissa arrived to get our drink order. I took a Coca and Tony a Budweiser. Then she left again, a few minutes later, she said "Oh I forgot your bread" gone...a few minutes later brings bread...oh I forgot the butter, gone!! Finally she's back, I said "We are ready to order!" I ordered the shareable Platter off appetizer section, sausage, Sauce with Hungarian peppers, Provolone cheese wedges, fresh ricotta balls and cocktail meatballs... exactly how advertised!! Tony had the Senior Rigatoni with Meat sauce & 1 meatball. She brought us a basket of four slices of Cold Italian Bread out of the bag from Tomaro's Bakery (that's what it tasted like... definitely not made there!) With butter.Tony also got a house salad of lettuce, shredded cheese and some diced tomatoes with ranch dressing...bare bones salad! When our food arrived, Tony absolutely loved every bite...not me!! He said "I can tell something wrong, what is it?" Well, my food was absolutely cold, nothing not one bite was hot or remotely warm. My cheese wedges didn't even string cheese out of them when I took a bite...the Fresh Ricotta balls looked and cut like meatballs on outside, very good taste inside but cold. The cocktail meatballs and sausages were all dried up and very cold. I was not happy!!We were sitting near kitchen door and could hear the cooks complaining loudly about all the food they were putting out. They were not happy to be there and one lady never missed a beat or took a break. I told my hubby I was not sending food back. The cooks already upset, didn't need anything done to my food...so I didn't eat muchWaitress wanted to know if I wanted a box, I told her no thank you.The cashier asked if everything okay, I told her no and explained. She offered to get a manager but still took my credit card for payment. No need to complain now, already paid. Never going back...there customer service was shot-tee in every aspect of our visit. I was very disappointed..this restaurant around since 1937... original owners would not be happy... don't even know them but to be in business over 80 yrs, they did something better than they are nowI don't recommend at all but this is based on my horrible experience with bad service, bad food and well bad everything.Good Luck!!!

Travelling through Clarksburg, WV and stopped for dinner at Minard's Spaghetti Inn. It was the best decision I've made in months! The food was absolutely fantastic, super service, and the atmosphere was incredibly unique and charming. It felt like we were dining as personal guests in the family home. I had a side salad and lasagna. It was excellent. My wife ordered spaghetti and Italian wedding soup. She was very happy! The star of the show was the Torta Tenerina dessert dish. It was so delicious i can't stop thinking about it! Jessie, our server, was super friendly, fast and attentive. Prices were very reasonable. We couldn't have asked for anything more, especially on a busy Saturday night. If you are ever anywhere near Clarksburg, don't miss out on this gem. Thanks for a great night out, Minard's!

I was quite hesitant about trying this restaurant after reading some of the negative reviews, however, I was looking for a non-fast food type of sit down homestyle meal.I went at 7 PM on a Friday night and the seated right away. The white staff was very friendly and took my drink order as soon as I sat down. They returned quickly with the bread basket and took my order for the homemade lasagna. The entrée came with a small side salad, which had a very tasty and simple house vinaigrette,, the only thing was that the salad was composed of just lettuce and tomato, no onions, no peppers no carrots no olives no cheese . It didn't take very long for the entrée to come out and even though the lasagna was not very thick as it usually is, it was quite tasty. The prices were quite fair with the entrée salad, bread and butter and soft drink coming to a total of $20 even including tax and tip. I would definitely come back here if I was in the area again as the food was very good it was very reasonably priced, and I had no issues with the service, even paying the bill was a breeze with a QR code on the receipt .

Why are there not current reviews? Almost all are over a year old. I know Minards seemed to be having a tough spell but the last four years have been awful everywhere. I still buy their grocery store items but miss the salad.

It's really sad when a once great restaurant falls, but it seems the Minard's of the past is no more.My husband and I recently stopped for dinner and were happy to notice the restaurant was running a special seafood buffet for Good Friday.Unfortunately, it was extremely poorly executed. Other than the peel and eat shrimp (which was still half frozen) every single item was fried and most likely came to the restaurant that way (think Sysco Foods).Nothing fresh, nothing made in house... all simply dumped into a fryer and placed on the buffet. No extra effort was made by the staff.Service was adequate, but considering the meal was self serve it didn't take much effort either.

Went on a Friday night...I've always loved old houses turned into restaurants, but this place had no coziness at all. No class. Salad consisted of iceberg lettuce and small bits of chopped tomatoes, dressing... that's it. The stuffed shells were day old pasta that was over cooked. They were filled with horrible meat and undercooked green peppers. The combination was in recognizable due to everything under reds sauce. The red says was good, but my mom's is way better. If you like chefboyardee than this is definitely your place to have "real-Italian".The matre'd was more like a warden, not friendly at all, could definitely tell she was there for the title, no customer interaction, ziltch.Don't waste your time or your money.

Stopped in here because I was looking for a place with sunshine seating and good food. Though the reviews were contradictory, my b/f and I decided to try it because the outdoor seating area was so cute and it was a beautiful day and the menu looked appealing. When we got to the parking lot, there were hardly any cars there. Now I know why. When we entered the lobby, there was no one there, but a sign said to seat ourselves. We waited for some time and finally, an employee rounded the corner. She was quite short and dismissive with the Door Dash man who had also entered and waited behind us. We then asked if we could sit outside and she said "You can sit outside, but I won't be able to wait on you. I'm by myself." If she had been busy, I would have been more understanding, but there was ONE woman in the dining room eating alone. We decided to leave and find somewhere more welcoming. 1) Don't have an outdoor seating area if it can't be used. 2) Hire staff that will welcome customers. 3) We went to The Caboose down the street and they were welcoming, opened the outdoor area just for us, and provided us a lovely lunch. I recommend bypassing Minard's altogether.
