Mike's Court

The food, service and atmosphere were all very nice! The staff couldn't be more friendly and attentive. They genuinely care about their customers! Mike is the real deal... humble and down to earth.The tell tale sign of an excellent bar/restaurant is seeing all the locals and friends who filter through all the time! As sports bars go this is a must to check out!

Awesome little local joint. I was on a road trip to NY and stopped in Altoona just to get some food and some sleep. The hotel desk agent recommended it. And she wasn't wrong. Mike, his staff and even his local customers all welcomed us like regulars. The only thing that topped the welcome was the food. I had the roast beef sandwich that everyone recommends and it didn't disappoint. I don't love horseradish so I got it on the side and the meat and peppers alone loaded the sandwich with flavor. Others in my party had a mushroom swiss burger and chicken tenders and fries. You can tell everything that comes out of the kitchen is made to impress. Impressively humble is how I'd describe this place. A true hidden gem in Altoona, PA.

Can't say enough good things about our first visit to Mike's Court. Great service from the time we entered that included signing a basketball and multiple visits to our table by Mike the owner. He even gave me a free t-shirt! Roast Beef sandwich was very good and my wife enjoyed her pizza and salad. We will definitely return to Mike's Court next time we are in Altoona. Highly recommend a stop here for great food and cold drinks!

We have been making our rounds of places to eat in Altoona and it was suggested to try out Mike's Court. We heard that their roast beef sandwiches were very good. Have to say, we thought this place was legit! We got the Mike's Court Signature Roast Beef sandwich and because it was Friday we got the fried fish sandwich as well. We added on onion rings and a house salad. The rings were nice and crunchy. The salad was a great to split for the two of us and the house dressing was tasty. I have to say, the food all came out hot and fresh tasting. The beer we got was ice cold too. This all made a great dinner and the price was on point. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with the menu. They are also open past 9pm which seems to be rare in Altoona! We will be back! Mike's Court is a winner!

Roast beef sandwich is the best that I have ever had! Service is nice. As well as the buffalo chicken pizza! Great thing(s) to have if you don't feel like cooking!

I'm not a roast beef person, but man those roast beef sandwiches sure are delicious!!!! I highly recommend getting the horseradish on the side so you can add what you want!

Came here tonight to try the roast beef sandwich and have a few drinks. I've traveled most of the United States and this bar is exactly what I look for. Great food, drinks and people. I will definitely come again. Bravo!

We were traveling thru the area and got off for a break at Mike's Court after reading other Yelp reviews. It took a minute to find after exiting the highway but so worth it after finding it tucked away in a neighborhood. We appreciated that everyone was SO FRIENDLY! After considering the recommendations of the waitress, we both had the roast beef & fries as described. One word: OUTSTANDING!Love this place! After learning that it was our first time there, the waitress brought us a sharpie & basketball to sign for their collection. The place is plastered with sports team pennants and memorabilia. We were told we wouldn't see anything from Penn State, but us being from Indiana, were pleased to hear Mike is all for Norte Dame!10/10 RECOMMEND!

Wow. An original sports bar. Beer and soft drink only BUT....the best stacked beef sandwich you will ever eat served several ways. Also great subs, fries,and salad and others. FirsT timers are asked to sign a basketball!
