I love mezcal. It's my go to after going to see a movie at row house. Their margaritas are delicious and their tacos are wonderful. All the staff are friendly and helpful. It's in the smaller side but I've always been able to get a sit. If you're looking for a good taco definitely go to mezcal!

Nice little spot in Lawrenceville! I enjoyed the tacos- they didn't skimp on the fillings and everything was fresh. Great service as well, would go back

We frequent this place often - great food, good vibes, and fast service. There is plenty of seating at the bar and the tables at both the front and back of the restaurant. Never had nopal (cactus) before? Give it a try - it's delicious! And if you like some heat, the homemade salsa that comes with the tacos is fire - literally! Just wash it down with a margarita or mezcal cocktail. You can't go wrong here.

This restaurant was rated a lot higher on google reviews so I was surprised to find it rated so low on Yelp. Although the prices were high, we went during happy hour and were able to eat two meals, chips and queso, and three alcoholic beverages for under $50 for two. As a vegetarian I was happy to see they had more than one basic option. My husband loved his tacos and altogether we liked the ambiance. Service was fine, no complaints!

The happy hour here is great!! The chips and queso, chips and guac, and margs were all on their happy hour menu. They even allowed me to mix flavors with my frozen margarita. The guac was very fresh. The chips were hot and they gave us more as needed. The queso was basic but everything I needed. The margaritas were strong but enjoyable. We loved the overall vibe of this restaurant--super cute bar, friendly staff, good music. It was an enjoyable bar/restaurant. Only downside was how uncomfortable the chairs are at the two top high tables--like top 10 most uncomfortable chair ever. I would return for the happy hour snacks!

A delicious authentic Mexican restaurant located in Lawrenceville! Friendly staff, great margaritas, incredible queso, street corn is fire & their tacos are so yum! They have delicious Mexican desserts as well. Small space, they do take reservations, but offer open seating as well!

Such a fun spot right in the heart of Lawrenceville! I came here last night (Friday night) on a date. We got there around 8 PM and we were able to be seated at a high top right away. We started out with some cocktails. I got the mezcal margarita and my date got the mezcal mule. Both drinks were delicious and not too sweet. For our food, we split chips and guac, pollo asado tacos, and the poblano rellano. Everything was sooo good but my favorite bite was definitely the poblano. We ended our night with a nightcap, recommend by our waitress. We both ordered La Cura, which is a warm mezcal cocktail. It was the perfect cozy drink to end the night with. Overall, everything was great about Mezcal. I'll definitely be back soon!

This review is only for drinks as I haven't tried the food yet. El Volcan was delicious, spicy and smoky and a little sweet. I am a mezcal fan so I ordered a pour and it came like I have had it in Mexico -- with worm salt and oranges (as well as tajin) and it was a great experience. The atmosphere is nice and cute. Will be back to try the food!
